BWWWHHHAAAA!!!!

And I quote from the extensive website (which is https://elftmanntactical.com/ for all those interested):

"...invented the DTR because of the 10+ years we spent playing paint ball."

and

"Not only was it more comfortable, it shoots faster, and it was much more accurate. We concluded that the DTR placed on any AR-15 will greatly enhance the performance and the aesthetics of the weapon."

I scarcely know where to begin aside from just saying that devices like this prove once more that if you build it...some @#$%ing @#$% on BARFCOM with more money than brains will buy it and swear it makes him and his rifle the ultimate instruments of speed, precision, accuracy and lethality (on the vast interweb battlefield at least)!!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

a buddy sent me this on my FB lol.... im willing to bet it came from BARF.com

im currently trying to talk him in to it for his next Tactical Carbine match aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol

it sems like they where trying to talk item up for a defense contract,,,, lol lol. i can see ALOT of accidental discharges from this

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS LOWLIGHTS XMAS GIFT HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... this and a bottle of SPIN-D!!!!!!!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Oh...and before anyone goes "how'd they get dual triggers in an AR"...there's the marketing genius behind this one...it is just a REALLY long, single AR trigger that the mfg claims, because of the change in trigger pull angle/leverage/the phases of the moon being altered inexplicably, can decrease weight of pull (albeit as pulled by your middle finger) of up to 60%.
wink.gif
You can have one today for a mere $240!

Gee...this or another Geissele for about the same money?!?! I'm gonna have to think long and hard on that decision and get back to the members here with my decision.
crazy.gif

FWIW...this isn't just a BARFCOM phenomenon. I've seen this thing in one of the generally worthless gun rags with a pretty extensive write-up. They are at least attempting to market this thing pretty hard and I'm sure this isn't the last we'll hear of it or the company in question which is also working on a myriad of 10/22 and other parts/accessories, etc.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Exactly, first thing I thought of was a stupid fuckin kiddy paintball gun.

That doesn't transfer over to real firearms, where you can't get away with holding the pistol grip with your thumb only.

Notice how the goofball has his ring and pinky fingers flying completely off the grip, he's holding the rifle with only his shoulder and left hand.

For practical purposes, this is just a new retarded way to try and fire as fast as you can while technically not "bump firing" the gun.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Sadly people will still buy this.. I think it looks f**king retarded...

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

From the video I didn't notice an increased rate of fire over a single trigger.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Seen it on FB myself and had to look. All I have to say is WTF! Really? With proper training semi auto fire is almost as fast as full auto and tremendously more acurate. All I see this as is another waste of money product like the slide fire.

Mall ninjas unite!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

It's the perfect accessory for your Red Jacket water-cooled AR's on your riverboat. Game change-uh!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Personally, I'm jealous.

I wish I had the capacity to think up useless concepts that can be marketed to the uninitiated at premium prices.

Just like Steve Jobs...

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I had this exact argument several years ago when I first saw this "idea" crop up.

It's a poor idea with no tactical application. If you actually know how to press the trigger on a properly tuned AR you can place accurate shots EXTREMELY fast.

I seriously doubt you will see one run against a shot timer.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

The sad part is that, judging from their test firing in the video, you cant even rock the trigger like you would on a paintball gun, which is the whole point of having the double trigger. All this is is a stupid trigger that requires both your index finger and middle finger to fire and offers no advantage (in fact, all I see are disadvantages) over a standard milspec trigger.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I am all for innovation in the firearms industry. In fact I believe you guys are going to see a very novel trigger idea come out in the not too distant future that has real merit and comes from a very experienced operator.

The problem that I often see with some firearms innovation is when it comes from an inexperienced operator that is looking for a hardware solution to a "software" problem. Meaning they have never trained to a high level of proficiency. They see a problem that proper training could overcome, but instead they bust out the dremel tool or sketch pad and come up with a new chunk of metal to bolt on a rifle.

From a business standpoint it may or may not be a good move. A lot of that will come down to marketing and WHO they get to use their gear or stand as a spokesman. But from an operator standpoint, it's ridiculous.

Watch how fast Jerry Miculek can run a double action revolver. Obviously his revolvers have tuned triggers, but you don't see some big ole trigger hanging off of it. Same with his 1911's. He gains his speed through skill and training.

I used to play paintball back in the day. A rifle isn't a paintball gun.

^^THIS!!^^

I see guys at the range (and online) all the time that are slapping the latest "device" or "accessory" on their firearms in an effort to compensate for a complete lack of skill, training or otherwise proficiency with their firearm. No amount of "accessory" or "gadgetry" is going to fix a lack of training, education, and...God forbid in this day and age...hard work!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Why not 5 triggers?! Hell it worked for safety razors!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I can shoot faster and more accurately with a stock trigger...

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Stick it on ebay and call it a Zombie Killer National Match trigger. Someone will buy them.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

In the famous words of a gunsmith I know, "that is gayer than a bag of dicks" Wonder what kind of fucktard would actually buy that. Laughable

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I now have 4 of these triggers on my ARs so i can dual wield and climb over walls while proficiently shooting at my enemies 400 meters away. Most of my time practicing is on video games due to the amount of $$ it costs to shoot real ammo. My physical appearance is that of a neck beard but with a real life simulator in my hands im just as good as anyone out there.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Maybe someone needs to point them in the direction of the airsoft world or toys R us. I cant stand all the new sophisticated air soft crap I come across when looking for reviews on real weapons.

For example: look for a review for an STI duty one 1911 pistol on youtube. Everytime you think you found one and it loads is some kid spooging on his kick azz air soft toy!

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Err....it's clearly not a dual function trigger (semi/full auto) like on the MG34?

It doesn't pivot or give independent action/reset to each crescent?

It's just a two fingered, extended trigger blade with a separate guard for each section?

Right?

Got to ask the question:

Sorry if I'm missing something here or being a bit slow......What problem is this the solution to?

Is it just a spend for those who want to feel like a dog with two dicks?

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Top trigger is either 5 or 7 lbs, bottom trigger is supposed to be 2lbs. They have been at the Phoenix Gunshows pushing them.

ORD: not dogging on you, but yes, if you double/triple the length of a trigger and grab the end of it, it will require less weight to pull it, it is simple leverage.

But these are a joke....but people will spend the money and try them....

It also adds to trigger pull length and also lengthens the trigger reset.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

Damn. My list of things I need to buy just grows longer.....

Slide fire

Pistol bayonet

Double barrel AR

Now a double trigger

I need to get a second job.

Oh for @#$% sake! Yes, I completely understand the issue of leverage and the fact that extending the trigger length that far down will lessen the weight of pull. It will, in fact, do that...but you are still pulling with your middle finger unless you really want to get a longer grip on your AR and slide your hand down further on the grip to pull with your index finger which was what I was pointing out when I said "(albeit as pulled by your middle finger". Oooh...OOOOHH! Wait, I thought of that idea first and get all rights reserved when this guy develops a grip that extends down twice the length of other AR grips so you can pull the tip of the extended trigger with your index finger!!

Hey, 1,3 and 5lb pulls then.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I have it figured out! You use the bottom trigger to get a lighter trigger pull (albeit with a longer trigger pull) and the top on for the reset. Then repeat process so that you can fit in at the local pb place. Isn't that what we all want?

Sometimes I make myself laugh.

Re: AR dubble triger??? lol

I like the part where, if you watch closely, you can see dipshit closing his eyes with each round fired. He 'invented' it, but he's scared of it. Too many massive recoil impulses for him to deal with! Haha! ...hard to put rounds on the money when you close your eyes every time it goes bang. My 11year old daughter has better flinch discipline than this d bag.
