Got my S&B 5-25 PMII delivered today. Its a beast cant wait to try it out but that will be more than a month in the future.

I had thought S&B were now shipping with Tenabraex covers. Mine came with Butler Creeks. I suppose they just reach into the parts bin and you get whatever is pulled out until they exhaust a supply or make a new order.

No big deal they seem serviceable. Playing around a little it seemed like the rear flip cap will be constantly flipping itself open or in short order the red tab will break. I wont be moving through woods with it so that should not be an issue.

I had read good things about the Tenabraex covers when the first S&B started to ship with them. Are they worth getting? I assume they are equal (BC and Tena) as far as clearance matters concerning bell to barrel. Does one type have an advantage over the other?

    Thanks for your time.

Thank you for letting me know the real info.

I'll save my Tenabraex money for putting toward a Giessele trigger.

Re: Tenabraex scope covers on S&B?

I just got the Tenebraex Tactical Tough scope covers for my S&B 5-25x56 from Euro Optics. The eyepiece part is the SB50EC-FCV. The objective cover is the SB5603-FCV but you also need a Tenebraex ARD or the adapter part SB5600-AR to mount the cap to the objective. The ARD or adapter screw onto the front of the scope and the Tactical Tough cap snaps over the scalloped rim.

I like these covers a lot. You can rotate them to whatever position you want easily and they're very flexible. Also when opened they you can lock them fully opened against the side of the scope. I switched because I found the plastic in the Butler Creek covers is too brittle and breaks easily. The downside is the Tenebraex covers are more expensive than BC caps.

If I were you I'd used the BC caps that came with the scope until they break. Mine broke when my rifle fell over on it's side when the caps were open and big objective cap snapped at the hinge.

Do you have any pics of them on the scope?

Re: Tenabraex scope covers on S&B?

So there is no need for an adapter on the eypiece?
Do you have a pictures of if?
I have a 3-20 and there seem to be different type of eyepiece. Mine seem to have an adapter included but i have seen other 3-20 with different eyepiece.
    Thanks

Here's pictures of the Tenebraex Tactical Tough scope covers on my S&B 4-16x24 PMII:

All pictures have the cover locked in the fully open position.

The first is the objective cover:

The second is with the cover removed exposing the thread on adapter under it:

The third is of the eyepiece cover which doesn't need an adapter and snaps directly on the rubber eyepiece of the scope:

All the covers include a plastic adapter ring that is meant to snap directly onto something that fits it, but you only use that plastic ring on the eyepiece. The others you remove the plastic ring and snap the cover onto the objective adapter. Here's a pic of the objective cover with the plastic ring next to it:

Picture #2 look like the eyepiece of my 3-20.
    Thanks for your pics

Re: Tenabraex scope covers on S&B?

I would go ahead and order a tenabrex for the eye piece. The butler creeks are garbage. Mine lasted about 4 outings before breaking and that is with no rough handling. The objective cap is still working.
I find it odd the highend scope companys do not supply caps with their optics that are of the quality one would expect on such fine scopes.
    NF has the bikini
    Premier has tenabrex
    My schmidt has butler creeks?
