Decided to put a USO SN-4 1.5-6X on it, just waiting for the mount.

I like lightweight .223's. The SR-15 is very well done. The new rail is a sweet set-up. Ambi everything, swivel points all over, LMT SPOMOD, super balance. It was pricey, but if you start adding all the nice touches the SR-15 has, little price difference between a Colt, LMT, or DD, etc, when you add all the extras.

Very happy.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I'm rocking an SR-15 E3 with a T1.... rifle is extremely light and handy piece of kit.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Nice collection. I have been comparing the SR-15, SCAR 16, and LWRC SPR for my next rifle. After handling all three, I will be getting the SR-15. I just cant get over how light it is. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on the Mod 1 yet, but if its anything like the legacy model I am sure I will be happy.

Lawmen's in Vero Beach, even paying state sales tax, they beat the typical Buy Now price on GB. Usually always *cough* have everything in stock. Got my EMC from them, only one to be had at the time, late model EMC, again paid a little less than they had been on GB.

Lawmen's isn't KACs retail store, different. They do give a substantial .mil/leo discount, nice for the leo guys that get the o.k. to carry a KAC as their service long gun.

The folks in the store are really friendly, they are there for you, not the other way around.

The nicest thing about Lawmen's, is that you can actually put your hands on what you are looking at. They have just about all of their stuff in stock, nice to be able to do that before you lay down a chunk of change.

Also you get a rifle that is new, not finger diddled by every tire kicker that always wanted to drool on your rifle. Scott cut the seal on my rifle case in front of me, not a demo. The have cans for both rifles and pistols, not too much tacticool gear, good store, good staff.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

More pics. The USO won't have EREK, will have JNG reticle. It's the weight, or lack of it. Light as a feather. Feels lighter than a 6940, I didn't weigh them.

Shooting it tomorrow.

Thanks for the info, great looking gassers, let us know how the 15 shoots.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I am going to upgrade my kit to the ECC and The MOD 1.

I have an SR25 ECC in the shop, besides being an ambi 308, the dimpled barrel and the other features it has a .419" 5 round proof group! Accuracy aside there is no other company with all the knights features.

Knights are underrated and people dont get the extra engineering that goes into these guns.

I have 2 SR15 MOD 1s coming inbound in about 30 days if anyone is interested pm me, my price is right.

Don't mean to go off topic here, but Mike is a class act, I just dealt with him, and things couldn't have gone better, excited to get my KAC!

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Does anyone have any input about the added rail length on the Mod 1 VS the mod 0?

I know the really long rails are the "in" thing right now, but I really liked the length of the mod 0. It the new rail lighter? Does it still feel as perfectly balanced?

Also, is the profile of the barrel the same?

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I've got a mod 0, and to me the rail length is perfect! I need the space for a peq2, eotech and magnifier. It's my opinion only, but I don't care for the added length of the mod 1. That's just me though.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I'd love to get the slick side rail in the length of the mod 0 rail - That would seen to me the perfect combination.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I had the old version and now have a mod 1. I like the mod1 much better. But I hated the integrated front sight on the reguler E3. Just always seemed to get in the way of some device I wanted to put near it.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I feel like this would be a perfect patrol rifle. It comes with great features so I wouldn't want/need to modify anything. My only issue is that I'm slightly gun shy when it comes to Knight's Armament. I've experienced nothing but problems with the M110 and a friend of mine had some serious issues with his EMC. I understand it was a new rifle at the time so I'll try to extend some grace. But anyways, you have a sweet pair of rifles!

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Been running a Mod 1 for about a year now. Used a USO 1.5-6 on it for a little while but I felt that it kind of took away from having such a light manueverable rifle. Been running a T-1 on it and don't regret the switch at all.

Shot mine today, ran fine. Put 300 rounds through it, no problems.

Macman, I know what you mean, you hate to add weight to the rifle, to me it's light weight is a big part of the appeal. This is one rifle that I will be using QD mounts (ADM for the USO and the Aimpoint set-up) instead of a regular mount.

With my old eyes, sometimes a scope is better for me, esp. past 100+ yards.
With an Aimpoint, this thing doesn't weight much at all. I'll swap them out, see how well they return to zero.

So far, I'm loving it.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

That's truly a badass pair sir, you have outstanding tastes in firearms.

Congrats, and enjoy brother

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Trident, your attention to detail is testimony. You have far more patience than me. Your accolades are well taken.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Well I had two SR15 MOD 1 rifles availible but some people in this post just had to buy them up. I guess the SR25 ECC wasnt enough for you was it Grgkng? Oh well Im off to order some more tomorrow. These were ready in 2 weeks from my giving them a PO. hopfully that is the trend whith Knights.

texasleftychef it was a very good decision, If you dont like it Ill buy it back, even after you shoot it.

Mike

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I'm still thinking about picking on of these up to replace the legacy model I (regrettably) sold. I haven't handled the new rail in person yet though. I'll have to wait until I can play with it.

I'm really interested in picking up the 14.5 E3 upper actually. That looks like a sweet setup.

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

I purchased the last mod 1 carbine from Lawmen's, absolutely love the rifle! The fit and finish is amazing, and shooting it has been a dream so far. I put a magpul ctr stock, miad grip and a aimpoint t1 micro w/larue qd mount, BFG VCAS sling as well as a KAC triple tap. Just need to install the triple tap brake.

I am really happy with the purchase!

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Is the triple tap really worth it? It looks pretty bad ass but maybe more of a mount/comp to justify fitting it to the KAC suppressor?

Is the brake that comes standard sufficient or should it be upgraded? What would you guys pick if not the 3T?

Excited about getting it next week...

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

well i was just reading your in bound Mod 1's and keep reading to see they are gone..

let me know the price on the ones in route.
thanks john

Re: SR-15 E3 Mod 1

Couple of old pics of one of my TT muzzle brakes. This is on my 1st gen SR-15E3.

The rifle is superb. If you have never handled one, it is hard to describe how light and well balanced it feels. And although it is expensive on its face, when you start adding up the features, it's not that bad.

The TT is expensive but at least to me, it is a well engineered piece and works fantastically as a muzzle brake. It really tames muzzle rise and makes the carbine very controllable. As always, YMMV.
