Precision Rifle Basics for the Tactical Shooter
    Sniper's Hide Day One

Sniper's Hide Day One is a complimentary edition to the Sniper's Hide Training DVD Day One. Precision Rifle Basics is the first in a series with a heavy focus on the Fundamentals of Marksmanship for the Tactical Shooter. The fundamentals of marksmanship are the building blocks to all good shooting. This instructional text breaks down those fundamentals to the millisecond.

Includes a few videos from the DVD inside the book.

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

Any plans to release a paper version of the book?

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

    No,

I included videos and other options I am strictly going with Apple at this time. I am 1/2 through my second one and the ability to demonstrate with an iPad is better than a paper book.

This book has several videos from the DVD you can't put that in paper.

    Well done Frank!

I downloaded the book this morning. I'll admit, my first thought was that the book was pretty short, only 25 pages. Then I started reading the book and watching the videos that went along with it. The ability to combine print and video is pretty awesome, modern technology is so cool. You can get a lot more information into 25 pages when it's clear and concise with video reinforcement.

I skimmed through the print portions pretty quick since I'm at work, I'll go back and read them in depth later. The videos were all very informational and well done, I like the parallax one especially. To some I'm sure this will all be boring fundamentals, but to anyone who is newer to the sport of tactical shooting there is some seriously great information in here. I could have used this info all in one place about 5 years ago, would have saved some serious time and shortened the learning curve.

Concerning the videos I have to say well done, again! A lot of shooting videos look like they're done with a consumer grade camcorder and a cheap tripod if you're lucky. I know we discussed before what went into these videos, but others should know that these are top notch professional HD videos with good sound and editing, not thrown together at home or with free labor from the local community college.

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

What app are you using to create the book?

If there is interest (i.e. revenue) would consider re-publishing in a format that is more open to other platforms?

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

My editor can export to EPUB and PDF but the problem is,

    1. I dont' have an Amazon Sales account

    2. You lose all the videos with the EPUB format

The next book I am currently writing can be exported in that format, it does not use as many video assets, most of the images are static and losing the interactivity is no big deal with those images as they stand.

In this book, the videos are key to the information being presented. So you would lose those, so just get the DVD when it comes out and skip this companion book.

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

I was thinking that you could make it also an Android App instead of just iOS. Just a thought.

There are some tools out there for cross platform multi-media app development but at the end of the day it really depends on what your realistic revenue expectations are. If this is just something for a few extra bucks then the extra effort probably isn't worth it.

I suspect the DVD will be more lucrative.

Re: Sniper's Hide Day One Multi-Touch Book

The revenue is not the issue and I suspect with this first one there is not enough to worry about.

Its a good text for a new shooter, or even one who doesn't want to sit through an hour an 1/2 dvd, but for making money, it's a cheap iBook.

    </div></div>

I tried it. It did not work. I guess I will wait for the DVD.
