Hey guys,
Im not new to shooting but new to precision shooting. I just bought a Howa 1500 Varmint in 308. Im currently looking for some entry level glass. My budget is $300 or less. I have read many reviews and other posts and get conflicting opinions. I was looking at a Nikko Stirling Targetmaster scopes. Any Reviews on these scopes? I was also checking out the SWFA fixed 10x scope and bushnell tactical 10x scopes. Let me know what you guys know about these. Im leaning toward the Nikko so the more info you have on that the better. Thanks

Re: Rifle scope for a new shooter

I would say go for SWFA for several reasons. The fixed 10X you mentioned is their only fixed scope with parallex adjustment. I purchased the fixed 20X due to my 64 year old eyes. I got the mil/mil version to match my other scopes and will allow me to shoot to 1000 or more yards. The focus is in front of the ocular lens and can be somewhat of a pain, but for $300 bucks this is a solidly built scope with lifetime transferable warranty. Reticle is nice and can be used for ranging since it is fixed. Good Luck !!!!
