First thing, all of us at TAB GEAR would like to thank all of the friends and customers that we've made over the years. It's been very rewarding and a lot of fun making products that have made so many people more efficient and effective in the field. Thank you to all of the members of our armed forces who have served and continue to serve our nation so that we can keep doing what we want to do. Also, a thank you to all the police officers who keep the peace here at home, we've met and become friends with so many of you too. Be safe on the streets.

Second thing, we are not quite ready to begin taking orders for these yet, we've got to finish up a few minor details first. If you're interested in getting on a waiting list for them feel free to email Lisa Bynum at [email protected] and she'll generate an email list and will notify all interested parties when they become available.

We've had some incentive lately to finish up the design on our newest model of suppressor cover as well as a formerly custom option that we'll be offering our customers on a production basis now too.

This is what the new construction looks like. We've finally figured out how to make the cover with the seam on the inside so that the outside seam is nice and sleek looking.

Since we've heard of a few instances of the SAS3 cover becoming loose with age and sliding down the barrel when the muzzle is lifted into the vertical position we've come up with a couple of ways to address that issue. Here's one of the ways.

This is the velcro strap in the relaxed state, no extra tension on the can.

This is the velcro strap with full tension on the can. you can swing the suppressor like a baseball bat with full tension and the cover won't come off the can.

This is an option that we've done in the past on a custom basis for customers, usually as a method of easily attaching and removing vegetation for concealment activities. The cord is 1/8" bungee cord and even if tightened with no vegetation will also work well at retaining the cover on the can as well. We'll now start offering it to everyone as an option that can be added to any of our covers.

Thanks a lot for looking and stay tuned for some more projects that we will be coming out with soon.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

So is there no sewn tab along the edge of the thing? Seems like its on the inside of the cover on this model? Wish I'd known about this cover before I ordered my SAS2 such as life.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Tony,
great design with the seam turned in, very interested in the one with bungee for veg attachment, I'll be talking to you about color and other options.
as always, Solid work.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

I may need one of these as well.

quality looking piece of kit sir....

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

The bungee cord version is definitely something I've been waiting for. As a hunter, I highly considered the Elite Iron version, because of their "ghillie-esque" design. Sure, it may not be needed 100% of the time...but when I want to use it, at least it will be there.
Rest assured, it will see plenty of use in the field from this guy.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

LMAO, I guess I'll be ordering more supressor covers soon!

You have not forgotten my last order..... Have you?

I'll call you next week.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Oooohh, I need me some of those!

It beats carrying spare elastic bands.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Tony, Im submitting my order for the bungee cord model.... hope you are ready for this!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Will definitely be purchasing one of these when my suppressor finally arrives.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Tony,

Is it possible to send in our older covers to have the bungee upgrade added - for a cost of course?

I even have one inbound from you now...

Thanks in advance.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

great product. I have emailed Lisa for the Bungee Cord in OD green! Holds up to heat well????

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Well done Tony. Like I need to buy any more covers but your making it tough on me...

Hell Yes!!!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Thanks a lot for all of your encouragement everyone.

bh-ltr, Sorry about that, the SAS2, with the shock cord at each end, will still need to be constructed just as it currently is.

Skinney, I'm looking forward to working with you on your projects.

c bass16, don't you and Skinney get together some times? Ask him what we're talking about.

superde, don't worry it's coming, just had to get this taken care of.

KYS338, we'll get you taken care of, thanks.

Fongman, I've been working on getting an answer to you today by taking some covers apart and putting them back together. I'm not ready to say yes or no at this point. Further testing needs to take place before I feel comfortable saying anything. If you have an SAS1 version, the velcro down the length of the cover, we can do that with no problem. It's the SAS2 and SAS3 that I'm working on.

powdermeasure, they'll hold up to heat as well as any of our other models. Remember, these are for mirage mitigation, not to be used as a heat shield.

Here's a pic of a cover I made for Jacob Bynum. It looks pretty cool on the rifle.

Tony,

Thanks for the response, just let me know - no rush...

BTW I have an SAS1 on the way now, guess it'll be heading back to you.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Perfect timing - I've got some new cans getting out of "ATF Jail" soon. The new cover designs look to be excellent.

Thank you for continuing to offer excellent products and service.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

THanks Tony! Can't wait to get my can out of jail. I will have this ready to put on it when it does!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Superde, Jacob's cover is a ghillied up cover that we made for him.

evilcoon, the high heat covers are another project that we're closing in on. What you see in this thread is just the next evolution of our standard mirage covers.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

I love my original and will be in line for a new one!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Tony,
I finally found the post. These are some very nice add-ons. Very nice work. I like the idea with the seam. Keep it up man!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Hey Tony, great to see you at the Grind, been a long time!! You need to post up that new sling and belt that I got to see, unless you already have had them out for awhile? Awesome stuff, I will have to get my xmas list together for the wife!! TAB gear for xmas sounds good to me!!!

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Emailed Lisa for availability to get a SAS2 with the new seam sewn inside and bunge cord treatment on the outside. Hope she gets back to me soon so I can order it and get it coming.....awesome stuff.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

The SAS2, the version with bungee on both ends, will not be constructed like this new version. The way the bungee is installed doesn't allow us to make them with the seam on the inside. I can explore that later to see whether or not we can change the construction around to allow it, but right now it won't be offered, sorry about that.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Thanks Tony, no worries. I can get the bungee option on the SAS2 though, correct?

This is an option that we've done in the past on a custom basis for customers, usually as a method of easily attaching and removing vegetation for concealment activities. The cord is 1/8" bungee cord and even if tightened with no vegetation will also work well at retaining the cover on the can as well. Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Yes you can Juniors, that's not a problem.

Also, the main reason I'm holding off on making the announcement on being ready to begin full out production is because I'm testing out a final tweak that I think will make this an even more attractive model. I won't go into details yet in case it doesn't work like I expect it to.

We'll have final pricing and features figured out asap and let you all know what's going on.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Blackbrush, let's take that to a PM format so we don't redirect this thread please. I'll be happy to discuss special projects with you, we do strange stuff all the time. We just made a 30x20 cargo net that was used at the PRS finale down at Rifles Only that went over well.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

I've emailed last month to be put in a waiting list, with no response back.
Should I not worry about it?

I know that Tony is a busy guy and I would try to email him again. The products he puts out are top notch and I'm sure that he didn't miss your inquiry on purpose.

Re: New products from TAB GEAR

Maclowry what email address did you send your message to? I didn't get your email.
