The book only covers 3 chapters (2 really since ch3 is endnote video) and is 25 pages total. Will the dvd go beyond ch 3 and cover materials not in the book?

Let me ask this another way. Will the 1 hour and 30 mins DVD cover topics not discussed in the book or is it an additional 1: 30 of the same topics discussed in the book?

The DVD is a Day One, like the books it covers the fundamentals of marksmanship in detail. From setting up your rifle to discussion of calibrating your scope. But it is DAY ONE. It is not a flash piece of me shooting stuff for effect. It is precision rifle instruction.

There are elements in the DVD, Bullet Points as i put them that are not in the book, these are short points of importance I felt needed to be included for a new shooter. We see the same question over and over on here so I felt that addressing them in a bullet point was a good way to start.

Also in the DVD is an introductory discussion on the wind. This is not in the ibook, however this will be addressed in the next book in great detail. I am already beyond the pages of DAY ONE and it only covers one topic. Still only 2 chapters. Day one as an ibook was a learning experience, I feel my next book is already so much better, not in quality or content, just in flow and how i am presenting the information. The Fundamentals are pretty cut and dry, still I feel there is not enough discussion about them, DAY ONE was a logical first step.

Chapters, are not here or there, I could have made a chapter for each fundamental, I could have made a chapter for anything really, how the iBook is split is really a function of saying, this was my first attempt using this system and I wanted to see how it worked, and I believed mirroring the DVD was a good way to do it. The Videos in the books are the same as the DVD, there are a lot less of them and they are shortened versions of the DVD. In the online training people would say they wanted a DVD because streaming did not work for everyone, nor does streaming work that well everywhere. Some connections are better than others. Also lots of people inquired about presenting the information so it was there for their iPad. Some wanted to take the iPad to the range with them, this was my attempt to offer those two options as requested.

So, Papa, if the decision is, should you waste your money on the DVD because you feel you got the information in the book, or the book was too short, or is the DVD complete enough... my advice is don't spend another dime. Wait until everything is out there and buy them all at once, or not at all. You can certainly gleam much of the information, granted in less detail, off the web for free. It's Day One, like the first day of a precision rifle class, I believe I even say in both we have now gone from 0 to 1, everything has to start some where, I felt starting off with the fundamentals was the most important thing I could do.

Just spent the evening needing to relax and enjoy something other than life. I had the Day One Video here so I mixed me a Jack and Coke and watched it.

As expected Frank did a outstanding job laying out the starting points for new shooters or shooters who have never had any formal training. This CD is well worth the cost.

I highly recommend it to everyone out there that if you havent got ahold of this yet that you do so.

Looking forward to seeing Day Two

Day Two & Three will begin filming this month ... They are coming.

Yes there is a plan to load the key lessons into the store for pay per view. The main lessons are also included in the online training as one of the original requests was for the lessons to be available via DVD also. So the new Online Training features the DVD lessons, plus we are offering members of the OT a discount code for the DVDs. But as we film the new lessons they will be part of all 3, the Online Training, the DVD series, and the Pay Per View.

I'm a little late, but better late than never!!

Frank has all the basics covered in this well put together package. Without getting too deep into details and mushy. I will say this. For anyone who has had no formal training and is interested in getting into Precision Rifle, and for those who plan on getting formal training. This is without a doubt a must have. It will probably be the most important and inexpensive investment you will make beginning in this sport.

It is comprehensive enough that if you do not plan on any hands on formal training that you have a starting point to begin establishing a solid position. It would be for you the most inexpensive training available.

For those of you who intend to broaden your horizons and engage in some formal training, do yourself a bigger favor and make this part of your kit prior to your training. I would promise it will maximize your dollars spent and allow you to spend more time fine tuning the basic fundamentals instead of trying to understand them and fumble your way through them at the class. You will be ahead of the game and allow your instructors to spend more quality time finishing the paint job, as opposed to nailing sheetrock.

No matter what training venue you would choose there isn't a reputable capable instructor out there who would disprove of the information and fundamental basis given in this DVD. Matter of fact I'd bet money they would be thrilled that you had already acquired some basic knowledge and understanding of the proper fundamentals, and would allow them to spend more time helping you build your platform!!

The most expensive rifle, optics, and equipment out there can't drive itself. A very small investment to make to begin your journey in Precision Rifle on the right highway!!
