I have a P4F that I'm debating selling/replacing the reticle to something different.
I have never used/seen a Horus reticle, but they seem intriguing. I'm wondering which one will be easier/better off at 1250m+ steel plates.

Or am I better off sticking with my P4F? I have no problems with the P4F, just wondering if there's something "better" out there?

Thanks

**Update

I'm probably going to stay with P4F at least until I find someone with one where I could try it out. Thanks!

No experience with T2 but it looks too busy even for me,LOL.

Horus is for those few that holdover primarily. With all Horus reticles except the H-37 at 1250Y you would have to dial the scope down to a lower magnification to utilize the "just guessing" 10-13ish mil lines.

The H-37 is better suited for ELR holdovers. Google a pic and you'll see why.

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

I have a T2 and it's confusing as hell to learn. I think I have it figured out but the whole speed formula thing seems like it's only good to 800 yards, definitely wouldn't try using it at 1200+ so P4F seems like a better choice.

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

I love my P4F in my Schmidt but I do have 3 H59s in HDMRs that have lately seen the lions share of my shooting.I feel it is the best of the Horus offerings,if that is your thing. But I would NOT let me repeat NOT take a Tremor in any scope available, even as a gift. Just try to work wind with that thing. After about 900 yards you have nearly a mill of wind holds with nothing. Tremor offers me little over a std mill dot and I personally think I could do better with wind holds with the Mildot.

But that's just me, someone will be along directly to elaborate on how crazy I am.

You can also try finding a Gen 2 xr reticles S&B. I like to try as many reticles as I can, & I can honestly say I think the Gen 2 XR is a good blend between the classic openness of the mildot with the holdover "tree" of a Horus ( but without the cluttered effect that some complain about with Horus reticles)

The Hours RETs work for some and others do not like them. I'm not a fan of them. I would say out of the 2 I prefer the Tremor2.

I really like the GEN2XR and the GAP G2. Vortex's EBR2 is a very nice RET also.

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

I just got a S&B 5-25 GEN 2 XR from a member today...can't wait to try it out. The XR does not look so "cluttered" like the horus reticules in my opinion.

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

Between the 2 I would pick the Horus because the whole reticle is a mil reticle. If I am not mistaken the Tremor only has calibrated windage marks wich can change with elevation. I also have the Gen 2 XR but the reason I like the Horus is because there are 0.2 mil marks and makes for more accurate hold overs.

Horus is the name of the company, both H59 and Tremor are Horus reticles.

The wind dots in the Tremor are time of flight dots, you can enter your specific setup at Horus' website and it'll tell you what wind value they represent. There is also a mil grid superimposed over the wind dots, although only at 1 mil increments (this is for windage, elevation has holdovers broken down to 0.2 mils).

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

What Mike said..... I like the Gen 2 XR. Not too busy if I want to shoot w/holdovers, but at 1250, i would just dial it.

Re: Tremor2 vs H59 on Schmidt & Bender

I just got finished with a course and had the opportunity to see both.I prefer the H59 for its simplicity.
