Pictures were hard to take because the material is bright white and it wants to reflect any light source but they should do.

I could had just ordered one but I didn't like the idea of having to use a cover on the cradle which could retain water/moisture and the other cradle was well out of my price range.

Both pictures are the same but one has flash the other doesn't. Hitting the one with black sharpie made taking pictures a bit easier.

These were just something that was thrown together quick so I'll probably Cerakote them before I put one in my range bag.

There is an insert on the bottom so I can attach it to my tripod.

Re: My Tripod Cradle!

If your talking about a PRS which I use. its extremely well made aluminum with strong threads for the QR plate and has a pad to cradle the stock better and absorb recoil bounce and doesnt retain enough moisture to mean anything.and its not going to slip when wet like yours...

Re: My Tripod Cradle!

The pad isn't sponge like then? That was my main concern since with winter here and the place I shoot having no cover from the elements just about everything gets wet.

Cut from a solid block. Crazy light ~5oz. and plenty strong for the purpose it needs to serve.

Re: My Tripod Cradle!

My wife makes a nice cradle for my tripod, will try and see if i can draw on it with a sharpie and take pics

Re: My Tripod Cradle!

If everything else is getting wet, why are you so concerned about this one piece of gear?

Really? Any particular dye you would recommend? Anything darker in color is fine, I'm just looking to tone down the bright white a bit.

Re: My Tripod Cradle

Rich, they sell "dip it" at Home Depot/lowes in cans that you can pour/spray on an item that wil coat it in rubber when it dries for a couple of bucks. It's pretty durable and you can apply it in coats if you want it thick.

RIT Dye. There are a couple tutorials on youtube on dying plastic parts.

Re: My Tripod Cradle!

What are you using for a attachment of the saddle to the tripod?
