I ran across an odd duck while sorting boxes of old brass yesterday. I am stuck at work today, so photo yet. Case head is marked "PETERS 30-08 Sprngfld"
Looks like a .308 case with a longer neck. I threw it in the .308 pile twice before figuring out why it stood out. I did not take time for the calipers but set it aside.
Searching on internet it sounds like a chupacubarra. I found one reference to a rifle owned by TR that he thought was a 30-40 but a Remington reo replied in letter that it was a caliber "30 of 1908".
I just thought I would put out a feller here while I wait to get a photo.
Thanks,
Bill
