F&D Defense

Re: F&D Defense

We just got one of these in the shop and have another inbound. The rifle is a work of art from a machining stand point and it has some interesting features. We'll get it out and shoot it sometime in the next couple weeks when the schedule allows.

Re: F&D Defense

Yes after speaking with Corby I decided to toss caution to the wind. Also spoke with two gentlemen that own them and they where very pleased with the rifle and support. Once it arrives will definitely be posting pics from the range Rush.

Re: F&D Defense

While I think this gun looks very, very nice I cant really get over how the gas block (I hope I am using the right terminology, excuse me if I am not) are just sits on the end of the rail and isnt protected.

Re: F&D Defense

I hope to get mine soon. I ordered it in the beginning of June but still have not heard anything yet. I believe the wait will be worth it, or guess i should say i really hope it is worth the wait.

Should be any day right? Have you tried contacting them?

Re: F&D Defense

I hope so! I sent Corby an email yesterday asking him the estimated time left. But corby sent a mass email out a couple months ago asking people to stop asking for updates on there rifles, apparently he was spending more time answering update emails then building rifles. So doubt I will hear anything.

Re: F&D Defense

My FD308 is for sale on gunbroker, along with some other things.
I said on one of these threads before that I wouldn't sell it. Well, if I can get what I want for it, fuck it. Still a great rifle, wish I didn't have to part with it.

Re: F&D Defense

If you dont mind me asking. If it's such a good rifle why are you selling it?

I heard from corby yesterday and he said that my rifle is about two weeks out from being built.

I've never received an ETA email. I ordered (and paid my deposit) in April. I got the mass email stating there would be no more ETA updates. That the first email I got from Corby since ordering. I resist the temptation to call for an update as I fear that would only further delay my order. 7 months and counting...

Aloha

Re: F&D Defense

I had sent an email asking for an update even though he had asked people not to. Corby replied with he understands that the rilfes are behind schedule and he is working as hard as he can. I understand that it takes time for a one man shop to build rifles, so I will wait. But, FD Defense is already pushing the lead time of other more established 308 ar producers. If nothing happens by new years I am going to seek the return of my deposit and go buy the repr I just played with at the gun store.

Re: F&D Defense

The only reason I don't already own a REPR is because of my deposit with Corby. If the two rifles were side by side in a gun store, I'd still go with my original decision, the FD308. However, had I known that I'd potentially be without either through the new year, I would have bought a readily available REPR. I check my email several times daily, hoping to see Corby's request for final payment and FFL info. I'm like a teen next to the phone, waiting.....

Re: F&D Defense

There are 3 on GB, one for $7k (Ha!), and your chance to own a demo with 2000 rounds down the tube (No thanks.) and a used one, like new, 0 bids.

A few of the pictured features could be cool, the finish/fit looked great.

One of those "time will tell" deals.

Re: F&D Defense

I met Corby at the shot show and was sold on the rifle and workmanship very detailed and well thought out. Everything you could want in a rifle he has thought of and improved on.
I ordered mine with a deposit March 20 with a deposit.
My rifle is 30 something and it is difficult to be patient with a NF mounted in a Spur Mount on my bench waiting to meet up with the host but I know it will be perfect when it arrives.

Re: F&D Defense

Anyone going to post some pictures of their shot groups anytime soon with the rifle they purchased? I read the entire post as I am interested in this rifle and read many post saying they will post groups but none yet??? Is there another thread I am missing where the shot groups are getting posted?

Awesome. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding this rifle. F&D makes some bold claims. I'll be interested to see how they perform.

How did you get your rifle number (30 something)? Did you receive that with your deposit receipt? I don't even know if I made the 50 "preproduction" list. I didn't get a CC receipt for my deposit, just seen the money taken out of my account...

Why don't you just ask me?

Re: F&D Defense

Very very impressive piece of engineering. The R&D and attention to detail are phenomenal. In an industry that seems to produce the next "wonder" AR platform or development almost monthly, F&D Defense looks to have done some serious homework and appears to be introducing to market a product that exceeds the marketing hype. As a small business owner myself, I know of the growing/teething pains associated with getting a new endeavor off the ground and up to speed. I look forward to offer any support no matter how minor with a future purchase of your fine product. Best of wishes, Lee

Well, I did ask a related question about another thread before I saw the later posts on this particular thread and you answered a shortly there after. That was probably a more important question (to me) anyway. I thought maybe there was something I missed in our previous communications.

Thanks

Re: F&D Defense

I live only 40 minutes or so from the FD Defense facility/address. Can one just come by and look at the place? Is there a storefront or just a manufacturing shop? Just curious as we have all heard a lot about these rifles.
