190smk in a 308?

anyone shooting this combo? i came across a box of the 190smk fairly cheap so i figured what the hell my 1-10 barrel can handle this... curious as to the luck anyone has had with them.... i guess ill start off using varget and play around with it....

43.0 - 44.0gr Varget works well for me. Depends on the case being used. Currently 43.6 with LC brass.

good projectile, but usually a good bump up in price from the 175 SMK

IMO the 190 does not reach it's potential without some more powder than 308

I used to use them. 44gr RL15 in Win brass was my load, and it was a solid sub-moa performer. 2620 fps or so from a 26" bbl.

That was a few years back. Probably could beat 2620 fps with MR2000, or RL17.

I've started to test the 190 SMK (2.820 OAL) in the 308 with 2000MR.

Lapau brass
Federal match primers
47 grains 2000MR
2685 fps with no signs of pressure.
Accuracy was easily under 3/4 MOA out to 200 yards. Unfortunately, that's the longest available in our area.

I'd like to try more at 47.3 and higher when I get a chance.

I've just helped a friend work a load up for his factory Sako trg,

43.5 grn Varget
2.80" COAL
lap brass,
Cci br2 primers.

Can't remember the exact velocity but I think it was around 2600fps
And VERY accurate.
easily holding .5MOA out to 500yrd (furthest we have taken it so far)

well im starting with 42gr varget at 2.8" we shall see sunday what they do out to 800
