K&M Precision Rifle Training announces dates for the 1st annual K&M Team Precision Rifle Competition. Combined with K&M’s first class training facilities this event will be a premier team long range precision match.

This will be a high tempo match with minimal “down time” between stages. The course of fire will test and train disciplines from across law enforcement, military and practical marksman spectrums. A special emphasis will be placed on team work, communication and problem solving. Teams can expect engagements from 50-1000yds at an assortment of steel, reactive, paper and automated moving targets. Target size will vary in difficulty based on the shooters position, distance and time allotted. Most stages will include “stressors”, either time and/or movement. All scoring will be transparent, balanced and reward the most consistent teams. The competition will require 175 rounds for each shooter to complete the course of fire and is caliber restricted to 300 WinMag and below. COF will be made public at the start of the competition on Saturday at 7:00am.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Will there be a set COF which dictates which shooter engages which targets? Or will teams be able to decide how to accomplish the COF?

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Fucking Knee we will see. Rich i'll gas gun

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

I may have missed it, but is this match set up to be more of a bolt-gun/carbine team match or a bolt-gun/bolt-gun team match?

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

The COF is set up for two precision rifles capable of engaging out to 1000 yards.

Some stages will have assigned targets sets for each shooter; others will allow the team to solve the problem and will be fluid in nature. Which shooter shoots what will most often be left up to the team. In other words the COF will support/allow teams to utilize their strengths without MD influence/limitations.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Looks like I'm finally gonna get to shoot a K&M match! Hopefully we can get a spot.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Sweet! Hope the slots are not eat up to quick either. I would love to make it down to this one.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

We are setting up a COF that will accommodate plenty of teams and still allow for a challenging, high round count, and fast paced match. We are working hard to make sure those that want to shoot this match will be able to. With that said, I still wouldn't wait to long to sign up.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

So do you need to have a teammate or are you accepting straglers that can pair up at the match?

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Will the entry form be set up for a team entry or 2 individual entries? If we have to enter as 2 individuals how do we designate our team mate?

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

The entry form is setup for registration individually. Once you have signed up you will receive a welcome packet via email for confirmation of registration. Please fill out the forms in the welcome packet with the teammate name, shirt size, other requested info and have your teammate do the same.

If you do not have a teammate, please register as a single shooter and we will team you up with another single shooter. We already have requests from a few high level shooters that are looking for a teammate.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Oh, duh. Well I can't always be expected to know what day it is. Just yesterday I thought it was 1997.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

What if we get in, but our partner doesnt? Or vice versa?

Bill

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Bill,

We will have plenty of room and plan to accommodate as many shooters as possible. I don't anticipate a 15 second sell out. But if it is, we will ensure shooters get in with their partner. In other words we have cushioned the amount of slots we will fill if that happens.

If you guys register tomorrow, you will get in! We really want to open the facility up to many that haven't had the chance to see it or shoot here yet. The goal is not to turn anyone down.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

You'll have to excuse my silly questions, but i've been huffin' paint all evening, so i'm a little loopy.

Is the box that we register on the site with going to change at 10am, so we have to hit refresh, and retype everything? Or is it as simple as it appears? Fill it out, and wait for the clock to strike 10?

Branden

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Bus,

It is as simple as it appears. Enter your info, select if you want to shoot the train up and then hit register. It will direct you to PayPal where slots are inventoried. One you submit your match fee your slot is confirmed and I will get a email with your information. I will follow up with a welcome packet email shortly thereafter. That simple.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

All match confirmations emails have been sent, along with welcome packets. Be sure to respond with your t-shirt sizes and names if your wife registered for you!

I'll be out the loop for a couple days, so give us time to respond this weekend. Should be back up on the net on Sunday!

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Ok guys we have 8 team spots left open. We still are pairing up individual shooters as well.

We started working on the COF and are very excited about this match. Work on communication, spotting, working together as a team and decision making. In many ways I think the team matches are more enjoyable, they really open up the COF for the match directors.

Shooters that have been to some of our matches in the past can expect a lot of new "looks" and stages! Plenty of new tests and a few new ranges for you.

Shannon

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

We are still getting emails and yes there are slots open. Registration is still open on our website.

Bryan and I had a few ideas that we wanted to run by the shooters. Many of you know it this a trophy/cash payout match. We were thinking instead of paying out the top final shooters to pay out by stage. At the end of the day it might not change much but it gives a chance for all to fight for a little something. We were thinking of paying out the top 3 places from each stage. Thoughts?

The course of fire will simply be “fun” and “challenging” for the TEAM! We will finalize it in January, so if you want some input lay it out here. If it is sounds good and passes the K&M tactical/practical common sense test we’ll try do it. We have plenty of options and will introduce more you haven’t seen yet, even if you have shot at our place before.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Sounds like a great idea..but you might get a lot of tie breakers for the stages.

Just a quick look at the last panhandle match there would be 7 stages with ties in the top 3 positions

stage rack 515 has 9 shooters with a score of 5

The rock has two 10's and five 8's

Maybe make a stage for folding stock .308's and see who can win?

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Each stage will have its own tie breaker. The fastest time for that stage will be used.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

I have absolutely no problem with it but with fastest time being the tie breaker I'm bringing a gas gun.

Don't worry...The Dave and possibly AS have the market cornered on the elimination of hostages.

Re: K&M TEAM Precision Rifle Competition 7-9 FEB (FL)

Every hostage I ever tagged was eye-ballin' me.
