Last winter I went to build another custom rifle. I’ve been doing this for the last 15 years or so and like to give myself a project for the winter. Anyways, over the years I have learned to do as much of the work myself as I can to speed up the build, and decided this year I wanted to run a detachable box magazine system. I took a good hard look at what was on the market, but it just didn’t quite suit my needs. I decided I was going to build my own system that would accomplish my goals that I wanted with the build. Those goals were mainly these:

I wanted a stock that I could make fit me perfectly so I really liked the idea of a chassis system, but I wanted it to weigh as much or less than most composite stocks without all the fuss of bedding, pillars, and fitting all the components together.

I wanted to be able to reduce the overall length of the system by removing the buttstock. This would also allow ideal check weld and still be able to remove the bolt on a long action without having to lower the check weld.

If the buttstock was removable there needed to be a place to attach it and have captive hardware with dual locking mechanisms that would prevent parts from being lost in the field.

I wanted to be able to mount the rifle on a tripod quickly and easily if I wanted to with minimal weight and equipment.

I also wanted the rifle to fit in most scabbards. I wanted to keep the height of the scope as close to the barrel as possible and reduce the overall height of the chassis.

After designing products in various industries over the years and for the military I started 3D modeling all the components in the computer. Finite element analysis was performed on the parts and assembly to make it as light as possible, but still be strong enough to handle repetitive heavy recoil and take a beating in the field. After working closely with one of the best machinists I’ve ever worked with we ended up with a prototype that worked flawlessly. I was really excited about it at that time, and did some things I regret as some of you might know, but I’m here to tell you we are legit now, and are moving forward! We have set out to design the best product we possibly can, provide it at a fair price, and I want to share it will all you fellow shooters out there! We stand behind our product and will offer the best customer service possible. If you are looking for a chassis system that is as light as most composite stocks then you should take a look at what Alpine Gunworks has to offer!
Here are some pictures of the system…

This is a 308 varmint contour Rem 700 with a Nightforce 5.5x22x56, Nightforce tall rings and EGW aluminum 20moa base. With a 50mm scope you should be able to run medium rings.

Here is a picture of the chassis mounted on a monfrotto pistol grip head.

DSCN0897_web.JPG

We are currently working on other products as well. Some of which that I can share are a composite grip that is lighter than the CAA UPG16 grip we currently offer with the chassis. It will be right or left handed and will have a thumb shelf similar to the David Tubbs AR-15 grip. We are also working on some accessory rails for the handguard to provide piccatinny rails. There is a stock pack that we are working on that will mount to the buttstock. A chassis for the bigger chamberings like 338 lapua is also in the works.
Here are some details about the system:
The chassis is currently designed for:

• Remington 700 short and long action
• Savage short action (4.410 spacing)
• Savage long action
• Stiller Predator
• Stiller Tactical 30,300
• Surgeon 591 and 1086

We will be accommodating all or most Remington clone actions and will be adding others as needed by demand. If you don’t see your action listed contact us and we may be able to provide a solution.

There are more details at www.alpinegunworks.com but the Remington 700 short action will weigh under 3 lbs without a magazine.

Price:
Right now we have Remington 700 short and long action chassis in stock and we’re doing a product launch sale. This chassis will also work with Stiller and Surgeon actions. Short actions are $1070 and long actions are $1095. This will include a magazine and the American Defense part that is used to attach the buttstock to the side of the rifle.

If you have questions please post them here or there is contact info on our website.

Thanks for reading!

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Hide members lcc2013 and CBGUN28 will probably be along shortly to let us all know how much they like their newly purchased chassis. Or will you create new user names for that?

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Yes, he did that shit on several forums, but he looks to be a paying sponsor now, so I suppose we should let him speak his peace.

I'd like to know if the cost includes the butt stock, from what I remember your chassis was $700'ish, then stocks were extra, so for the $1100 is it included?

Might be answered on your site already, I just can't get to it arm.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

He already owned up to it.

"I was really excited about it at that time, and did some things I regret as some of you might know, but I’m here to tell you we are legit now, and are moving forward!"

Looks like he has learned from his mistakes and is trying this honestly. No need to shit all over his thread without reading first. Best of luck to you alpine, I like the looks of the chassis.

+1 on Tikka T3! Git'r done. Hope this works out better for you, don't be making promises you can't keep.

Tikkas are becoming more popular and have less stock options, you would do well to inlet for them. If you buy one to use as a template you may end up selling some of your other rifles for more Tikkas!

This might be believable if he had learned the first time, but he tried it again just last week with another user name. Now his name is in orange and he gets a pass? If you think he will stand behind his product, go for it. It's pretty obvious his ethics are highly questionable.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Ryan,

How about dropping it,

This was addressed and the accounts are being removed. If you don't think we weren't aware think again. We addressed it, clearly, as we required him to pay to advertise and he did.

If you continue to attack a sponsor you'll need a new name because you'll be gone.

Lowlight,
Your stance on this is crystal clear. Deleting the past accounts and accepting his money to be a sponsor speaks volumes.

Nick, good luck with your company. I hope you have turned over a new leaf.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

I will be looking at the Tikka actions, since I have heard good things about them as well. If there are others interested in a Tikka T3 inlet let me know. We are in SLC and I don't own one so that's the biggest challenge right now.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

I will buy one and let you use it to figure out how to make it fit. All I ask in return is a free stock! ha ha

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Thanks Ryan for that I appreciate it. I knew I was going to get beat up on here for the mistakes I made in the past. I was kinda new to these forums and, was very passionate about this product I had designed. All that kinda got the best of me I guess you could say. I suppose I owe you all a formal apology.

We have set out to make the best product we can and we stand behind it 100%. We are here to offer the best customer service and product support that we possibly can, and we will continue to develop and design quality products at a fair and competitive price. There is also a 30 day return policy. If you are not happy with any of our products its either free or we will give you your money back its that simple.

Telling a customer to "get fucked" is, in fact, one way of "addressing" it.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

That's a good question Turbo and something that should be addressed here in this forum. What this means essentially is the product will be warrantied for normal use and abuse it should see in the field. Scratches dings and dents are not going to be covered under the warranty. If you leave your rifle on your truck and drive over it well that might not be covered but call us and we will do what we can to address the issue.

How's that?

I probably need to add a little more detail to the warranty section on the website. Thanks for pointing that out.

What a fucking tool. If you were my neighbor I'd have a gunshow in my front yard every weekend just because I know how much you'd like it.

Please stay in your liberal country where you probably have to leave your guns at the "gun club" after you shoot them.

In the US, that is a threat. If you were to try and make good on that threat, and attempt harm, you'd get shot.

Sad to think in other countries, threats such as those are "OK"...

Croatia certainly doesn't. They more or less razed the whole country to the ground during the civil war using artillery and airstrikes and they buried so many mines that you can't rebuild in some places.

Nice to see someone whose country participated in an ethnic cleansing has the moral superiority to threaten someone for filming a completely legal act. You've made some real progress.

Quick digression to the actual topic of this thread...

It looks like a nice chassis, one differentiating feature being the weight, which is where many chassis come up short, or long, or you get the point.

OK - now back to the Balkans and Hypocrisy...

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

The thing that bothers me is this guy came to the hide blatantly showing his crooked business ethics from the start by creating a "third party" account to promote his stock as a "consumer." I personally wouldn't trust him with my money just from what he has already shown alone. Maybe he really has turned a new leaf, but I won't be the first one to try out the waters.

And he is now obviously a site sponsor...so he is now associated with guys like Liberty Optics, SWFA, Triad, Chad Dixon, and other reputable companies.

The only thing that I thought was different about this site than others like BARFcom is we don't put up with bullshit claims from liars, and we don't support shitty businesses....

With all that said, the chassis does look nice. However, I dislike how the butt stock completely disconnects. Other than that, it does admittedly look like a quality chassis.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Let me explain something

When someone comes on and tries to promote a business, a moderator will stop or ban them and then tell them to contact me about being a sponsor. This is common practice, we do it with everyone.

Let's face it, not everyone reads the rules, most just click yes and move on.

Alpine is the not the first to come in here attempting to sell only to be banned then brought on a sponsor.

Most of these guys are small businessmen, not very tech savvy, and don't understand the inner workings of a forum like this. Trust me, many tell me to fuck off after being banned. In fact, when Mark Larue came on here advertising his stuff, when it was taken down he blew a gasket. He felt this long standing rules was unfair.

He really only had one extra user name, and he said he was making it and didn't get my message until after. We changed his original Display name not to a business and then he thought he needed a new one, all while we were discussing the site. He didn't get it, it was explained and then once he understood, we settled it.

This is not uncommon, we even had a run of guys who were selling stuff like painting services, you all knew and liked, which was against he rules. We finally brought them in but for years they were able to operate without being a sponsor. Same thing with the Target Guys, guys working on the side, not making enough to afford the cost, but still we over looked it.

This site is a business, it is my only form of income. We have rules in place, but also we want to help the small business guys. We do our best to assist them in making the transition from user to vendor. Again, not everyone understands the working of the internet or social media like this. They figure what they do on Facebook is fine.

Lastly, there is no "Free speech" here, I own this site. It is a privately owned business and I have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason I want. You don't have to like, and the log out button is easy to use. Disagree, attack me, fine you have two choices, leave and never come back, or I will show you the door and make sure you never return. The choice is yours, and it's really your only choice if you want to be a dick about how I run this business.

All of you are free to vote with your wallet. Don't like his business practices, don't buy anything and don't comment in his threads. But you're not gonna attack his thread anymore than we dont' let you attack any other members for sale thread. Which you guys love to bitch about. As soon as some one tells you that you are charging too much for your piece of shit gun, you cry to the mods to remove it. Why should this be any different, other than Alpine is paying, most of you are not.

He stepped up and did the right thing as instructed to do... we don't just throw businesses off the site because if we did that, huge companies would be gone. Think of all the big companies on here, that are NOT Orange... guys from these businesses answering your questions about their products. They see you dogpiling on Alpine and they say, and believe me I have heard this, "you guys online are dicks, so we don't want to be subject to that"... so we try to invite them to participate in order to help YOU the members..

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

"so we try to invite them to participate in order to help YOU the members"

Thank you! The information found on this site is very valuable to those of us trying to learn. A much higher level of quality info than most general forums.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

not sure why everyone cares about weight anyway. if it doesn't way more than a M249 SAW with a 100 rnd nut sack and roughly 1000 extra rounds in my pack including all the other crap I'm carrying then I'm pretty happy. i would rather carry my bolt gun in a B&C stock all day than the crap i carried up and down the mountains in afghan lol.

that and half the people who buy rifles these days will most likely never carry them any further than the distance it takes to get from the car to the bench at the range or from their truck to the deer blind.

so when ever you think your rifle is too heavy just think. some place out there there is some poor grunt lugging around an ass load of shit so you can have the freedom to complain about a couple of pounds
wink.gif

of course light weight means tacticool so thats always a plus lol

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

So I know I got on here earlier in the year and broke the rules. I never really meant for it to go as far as it did and regret some things I said. I said some things that I regret, and I also feel bad I have put Lowlight in the position that I have. I got into discussions that I should of let go and just come back as a paid sponsor and moved forward. I ended up getting pissed off though and didn't want to take any shit from anyone. To be honest I was new to these forums and wasn't prepared for it. For some reason I decided I was going to come clean and fess up to self promoting my product. Most people wouldn't do that and I know there is a lot of this self promoting stuff that goes on in forums like these, but I felt fessing up to it was the right thing to do at the time. Everyone makes mistakes and success usually comes after making quite a few of them as we all probably know.

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

I know a lot of you probably want to see a non-biased review. I have sold some of these stocks but only one customer is a hide member and he is waiting on rifle parts to complete the build. I can tell you that in my initial testing I tested a barreled action in a manners stock and then put it in an alpine chassis and accuracy stayed the same as well as load data. I have spent thousands of hours designing products for the military that have to withstand extensive ballistic shock loads like the MIL-S-901 hammer test that simulates a torpedo strike to the hull of a ship. I'm not saying I'm an expert, but I did my home work before bringing this product to market. I'm also not saying it's perfect or that there are not ever going to be any problems, but I have mitigated the risk of everything I can forsee and its been reviewed by two gunsmiths during the design/prototype phase. Some of their feedback was added to the production run models.

Here is a post from another customer on long range hunting. He reported the same results as far as accuracy and load data. His surgeon was in a manners prior to his alpine chassis.

http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f19/showing-my-new-carbon-fiber-stock-102110/#post721150

I do plan on competing with this chassis next year at the Vortex Extreme here in Utah, and could use a good partner that wants to be serious and competitive.

Anyways it takes a lot of balls to get back on here and actually pay to get beat up on. I knew it was going to happen and trust me I wouldn't have bothered if I knew my product wasn't good to go, and I wasn't prepared to do what it takes to have a successful business. Once again I am here to share it with you all and make you happy customers! There I'm done defending my past statements and I'm glad I could provide some good entertainment for you guys

</div></div>

First off you totally missed the obvious point I was making. I'm not talking about the stock maker or the fact that you have sponsors.... I'm talking about the fact that you told one of the members that he wasn't allowed to question the ethics or criticize someone that pays you money. Once that happens all of the information provided by the website it's self is in question because for all we know you were paid to give false information, give good reviews, and slander sponser's competitors... As far as know the majority of the people that come to forums like these come to get and share information and would like for that information to not be censored for money... Am I the only one that thinks that's wrong?

Re: Alpine Gunworks Chassis

Listen you 45 post wonder, it's about trashing a guys thread when you don't know the facts. Turning the thread into something it's not.

Clearly the behind the scenes details were not known, like the fact I deleted the other account, so why continue to shit on the thread. It's a done deal, I straightened the guy out. He was pressing a point that wasn't an issue.

You haven't a clue, and if you think I get paid for reviews or decided to take the jump from not shitting on a thread to selling positive reviews, well do like you said go spread that lie because that is not what happened.

You're certainly not gonna last on this site because you're disrupting this post
With false allegations based on stopping a guy from going in a direction that doesn't exist.
