Has the price gouging begun?

Anyone seeing the prices go up and up yet?

I've had friends call me because they want to buy AR's before the ban hits - and the local stores sold out of all of their AR's.

Sheriffs dept had a record day of CWP applicants Monday.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Is there anything left to raise the prices on? You can only gouge if you have product.

Some friends of mine who live in a free state emailed me to tell me they were all going to the local store to buy up every AR10 they could find, just because they could. Jokes on them, they could only find 1 to buy. Now it's like they live in CA. Welcome to the party.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Not so much here in Texas, yet.

Picked up a couple rifles for my nephews Christmas yesterday, noticed the shop had a whole pile of Pmags there, so I bought a bunch for a reasonable price. The guy writing the order total noticed there were two different prices on them, so gave them all to me at the lower price, all good here in Houston. Still had AR's on the rack, but I didn't need anymore.

Instead of getting two bolt guns, maybe I should have bought them a pair of AR's, while I still can......??? thoughts?

Santa Mikee being bad again!

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

i think full MSRP has been instituted at this point..the gouging will not take place for another month or so

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Some dealers have already started this crap in Wesiern N.C. .I hope the asswipes get caught with all of it in inventory and have to set on it before they get a return. I called one of my FFL distributors to reorder Magpul P mags and was told they had ONE dealer call in Friday evening after this just started and he wiped out their entire inventory of P Mags. I am referring to 7,500 friggin mags!!! Called him up to see if he would sell any and he has already jacked them up 20% OVER MSRP. It's sad that there is always sum bitchs out there that value profit over integrity.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

A gun shop I visited on Sunday in northern Virginia had doubled it's price on PMAGs. They were in such a hurry to do so that they didn't even cross out the old prices. PMAGs went from $18 to $32. God bless capitalism.

Suddenly the post-election buying doesn't seem like a stupid thing.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Personally, I have a hard time applying the term "gouging" to rifle magazines. Gasoline, water, electricity, food, perhaps, but not to magazines.

I've never heard the term applied to gold or other precious metals.

To me it refers to "necessities" only.

YMMV

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

I'm thinking of getting an AR-10 lower. I'm covered on everything else. Is DPMS any good?

This^^^^ is funny shit right here.

The day is coming brothers, and that right soon, when a weapon will be judged "good", simply by the sound it makes. "Does it fire?"Then its a good one.

Nope, the post-election buying frenzy appears prescient. I'm glad I stocked up on PMAGs a while ago. I'm just hoping the House holds out against this jackassery.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

I have noticed AR's and the like on Texas gun trader have gone up.... I sold a Stag Arms model 2 the other day for $850 and I noticed the guy relisted it for over 1k. The panic is on and oddly I don't care much about it. I used to love AR type rifles until I got into the longer range type rifles.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Checked out my LGS in NOVA and they didn't have a single Semi-Auto rifle on the shelf. Even heard a guy tell a salesman that he would buy whatever AR they could get him. All their prices looked the same as always. Cheers to VA Arms for not gouging.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

I guess enough people called and bitched at Cheaper Than Dirt. Their Pmags that they jacked to $60 and their case of 5.56 that went from $399 to $899 are back to normal.
Hope everyone will remember what shitbags they are and take their money elsewhere.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Theres a post on FB where people are arguing that the CTD price of $59.99 for a P Mag is for 30 Mags not 1......really guys.

FDE Pmags are 30$ as of 10:00 this morning. They are still shitbags.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Gun store in Austin had a few pmags in stock, and a few AR's at the normal price. I bet everything is gone by the end of today. I managed to get a Colt 6920 that was still on the shelf for a good price. Didnt need it, but I couldnt pass it up.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

BCM is never gonna have complete lowers in stock again...

If anybody is stupid enough to pay this price while you can still get them for $13-$15 by shopping around then......</div></div>

I see some still available, albeit jacked up, on forum classifieds. Stores, though, are another thing altogether. Literally people camping out. Full retard.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

Look at these idiots spending $400 on (6) Pmags. There is 40 minutes left in the auction and over 42 bids!

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

People are completely freaking out. Just saw 5 pmags bid up to 350 on gun broker. That was with an opening bid of .01 and no reserve. Crazy!

I guess if you wanted to make some good money and were sitting on a pile of extra pmags you could just put them on open auctions. 70 bucks a piece for the 5 and people were bitching yesterday when CTD was selling them for 60.

My LGS had a couple cartons of them and was selling them for MSRP yesterday.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

With the price going up ,it is blood money on those victims. It is rumored already that the president is going to work with the NRA along with the anti's and come up with a solution including mental health institutions. I would boycott any dealer that raise's price's after such a horrible tradgedy.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

i really hate this shit because it means so many panic button wondrements out there are paying these prices which in turn means that for the next several years these same tards will be trying to recoup their retarded prices from this inflated crap. the gift that keeps on giving. merry christmas

speaking for myself, I've never found it that hard to avoid that type of tard's inflationary tactics. they seem to be able to locate other tards and pass the consequences of their poor judgement on to them. so, no harm, no foul.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

fair market value comes to mind from a sellers standpoint
price gouging from a buyers

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

I could have bought p-mags for $14.00 two days ago, now the same place with the same inventory are going for $25. I just put them back in the box I don't need them that bad.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

I dont see anything wrong with someone charging what the market will bear. When you have a product, you don't sell it at the price you bought it at plus markup. You sell it at the price you can replace it at plus markup.

Dont like the price, don't buy it. Its a voluntary contract. If pmags are worth $50 a piece to someone else, why should he turn that down to sell them to you?

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

As far as I know, there hasn't been a single piece of legislation passed. Merely kneejerk speculation - much like the type of kneejerk speculation people are speaking out against in the government pondering a new AWB same tactic, different context.

shit, there's been people paying a lot more than that for pmags. stay indoors; it is full retard out there.

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

i'm pretty proud of the shops around here (athens, ga) as they have all been slammed to the gills for 4 straight days and the only price increase i've seen is a $4 raise on pmags and about $150 per AR at 1 shop, the other 2 stayed the course....

problem is the craze is gonna keep shit out of stock for at least 6 months to a year so in a way the ban threat worked out pretty well

Re: Has the price gouging begun?

There's a pre-ban Beta C-mag going for $750 right now over on the GB auction board. Post-ban (I think they only hold 99 rounds. ahem), are going for around 3-4 hundred. So far. I just might cash in.
