Holy cows guys! I just got back from the major local 'tactical gun' gun store. This place usually has a few walls full of ARs/Aks/FALs/etc. but it's been picked bare and I mean it's ALL GONE! Huge lines just to run a background check. Any other time a background check takes 10 mins, it's now <span style="text-decoration: underline">four</span> days! All the bulk ammo and mags are gone. The guys said this was way worse than the 2008 election.

I just came back from my local gun builders place, they said they could have sold the toilet seat yesterday if it had a detachable mag.

[edit] so out of curiosity I just went and looked at GB and searched for AR lowers. A month ago there were pages of them for $250 and up. Now every one is an auction, and the prices look to have doubled.

Just stopped into my gunsmiths shop and while he doesn't really mess with "evil black rifles" he had ordered in a few AR's in the last few weeks. They are gone and the customers didn't blink at price or care what make they were. While I was there another guy came in looking for an AR and I almost LOL'd.

I went to the local Wallyworld just to see what was there.
Not much in the ammo case. Lots of shot shells on shelves.
No 223 nor 308 and really almost nothing in.22LR. A few boxes of shorts with high price. No bulk and hasn't been since early Nov. Not much in that section at all, and people coming and asking about ammo for this or that. No 10/22 mags.
They did have bulk 380 at a good price.?? Usually not too common.

I think pretty much every assembled AR on the store shelf anywhere disappeared in the last 48 hours. I've been planning to get 2 lowers for about a yr and a half now that would finish (if that's possible) what I want for black rifles, now I'm still one lower short of the goal and I don't see me getting that last lower for a while. I'm just not ready to pay 2X for a stripped lower yet.

yeah i wouldn't either when by january you could pay 3 or 4x the price now if at all. i talked to a company that machines lowers for about 80 other companies and he said simply hes sold out for well beyond 12mo. he advised to buy any one i could find from anywhere i could find it...

Went to the local police supply store.Not a single AR on the shelf there were probably 50 there on saturday when i was there last. Not a single hi cap mag either

AND they were selling to the COPS

Just left cabelas and it was nuts my buddy works the Gun counter. people who never had a gun are Buying everything they are lined up 3 deep. The Ammo section looks like a dozen monkeys hit it. They still had a back room full of AR's for sale was fun just wacthing people.

Guess I'm just lucky. Cleaning out the vault at work today and found a Spikes stripped lower we ordered for a guy that never got picked up. Paid $99.99 for it with a smile on my face.

I went to the local gun store to buy some ammo for my brother in law for an x-mas present and they were sold out of most of the common calibers. No big surprise but the ar section was empty. I might end up regretting it but I haven't bought anything since the shooting.

If these guys would spend as much energy in writing and calling there representatives as they do in panic buying maybe we would have a chance at stopping this. Oh and join the NRA or your state organization.

i went into town today and came across the same situation from a wall that is normally full there was only 3 left ( ar's ) and one sold while i was there talking to my cousin ( he own's the place )

i was watching his help try and get threw to the backround check hotline and she just had to keep hanging up and hitting redial...i left before she ever got threw so i dont know how long they had to wait - was at least 15 mins of her trying to get threw while i was there lol.....

these are interesting times we live in.....

I just sat at my FFL guy's house for 2.5 hours while he waited on hold to clear my background check. I finally just gave up and told him to call me when he gets through. He said that his FFL expires next year and that he likely won't renew if things keep going in this direction. I can't imagine trying to turn a profit at a gun show this weekend. If you can only process 2 transfers a day, it wouldn't even be worth packing the truck.

I was at 3 gun shops today looking for some p-mags, None to be found. The one store is strictly AR style weapons they started Tuesday 60 some highend ar's. when I left they had 8 left and most of them were spoken for. I did pick up a lwrc repr from them for a good price.

F-ing eh. all of my buddies looked at me like i was crazy when i bought 3 RRA ar's after the election, 50 30-rnd pmags, and a number of rounds i will not post.

one of them called me yesterday wanting to buy one. LOL nope...

i am glad i did my "panic buy" when prices and availability were still sane.

man am i glad i picked up 20 p mags two weeks ago for $10.00 each and ordered 20 moor i just hope the order gets filled now with this shit going on. the anti's are running advertisements here in Detroit on TV showing an AR16 on full auto then an AR15 then a 30 round mag spreding and pumping up there anti crap

My company that does gun shows here in GA usually does $10,000 for a good show. This past weekend we sold over $30,000. MADNESS!

My local gun store today was packed. He's been in business for 37 years and he told me yesterday was his busiest day EVER. I got there at 10am and he had 6 AR's in stock. Sold 2 while I was standing there and I bought the 3rd. He only had 2 AKs in stock.

Its crazy right now.

My FFL guy just called back. After leaving his phone plugged into the wall on speaker phone all afternoon, he finally got through. My transfer has been delayed. In Alabama, I can usually take it home the same day. If it is delayed, there is a standard 3 day wait until the FFL can release it. Guess what. That's changed. They won't let him release it until the twenty fucking eighth!!! I know he isn't bull shitting me. He's just as pissed as I am. Fuck all of'em!

a family member of mine owns a firearms store....not huge but not to small either --- he made $60k in 2days after sandy hook --- but now cant get more product in lol

My local shop reported an hour ago that 7800 people were in the system waiting on background checks for colorado. Last record was 1200. Average wait is usually 30 min. its up to 6 days currently

Wow! When I got into the queue two days ago it was just over 4000. I bet this weekend brings even higher wait times.

Crazy crap going on here. I just sold 2 junky Olympic lowers for 400 a piece. Watched a guy pay 4k for rock river with 8 mags bipod and a Mark AR scope. Nice outfit but holy crap.

With all the people standing in line to get gouged the dealers should be including a membership to the NRA or GOA.

Slapstick or Clipped Dick or something like that knows the most about what is going on in Colo.
Last I heard it was 11,000 and growing. He will know it all.
When he gets his knee pads off and brushes that taste out of his mouth he will let us know what to expect as to how far out the insta check thing is. Many days I think but he will know the most.

A local shop here had 1 on the shelf the other day, a beat to hell colt with a 22 LR conversion kit included for 1400.00. Buddy went over today, said they had a couple in the back, so 3 total, they got 6 in on shipment, and in 30 min 8 went out the door.

The other shop sold 46 AR's on Wed, and the local Fleet Farm sold out their entire inventory (Huldra Arms) by Friday. Apparently the surround 33 stores had sold out as well.

Scheels has 30 rnd mags at 35.00 each, but it sounds like they are going fast.

I was in my local dealer's shop yesterday and the guy and his wife looked totally frazzled. That shop has been totally raped of inventory. He told me he is going to have to close up after Christmas for a couple of days to do a good inventory to figure out what he has left. He showed me a stack of paperwork for the shop that was probably six inches or more high of things that had to be filed for the sales he has had.

I was in there to do a transfer on an AR I got right before the craziness occurred and I could have just opened the box in the store and said, hey, who wants to buy AR and doubled my money - but, I didn't...I like the AR too much to give it up. I am bad that way. I guess I am a horder at heart.

Went to the Lacey, WA Cabelas on Saturday. They had 3 knock-off AR-15's and 1 semi-auto MP5 left. They still had 50 or so PMAGS (non-window) with a sign saying "two per customer" and they wanted $18.95 each!

Well all was as expected, 1 M&P on the rack, a consighnment gun with 700 rds of PMC and 6 Pmags, 2500.00. My boss bought it and a Tri-Power.

Instock ar mags were 45 a pop for P's and Brownells.

They sold just about every hanggun they had. green tip was 20 bucks a box, wolf 10.

I do pro-bono work there, 4473's, build/install ar parts, handgun sights, glock upgrades. Its fun and i sometimes get a break on big ticket items. Plus lunch's........Well today it all payed off, got a Christmas box.

This is what the owners gave me for my efforts.......

Not a bad bunch of guys to hang with. PLUS I picked up a 3rd gen Glock 21 for 450 and some wolf 556 that does nothing but not run in my ar's..

Background check wait times here in CO are up to 6+ days. Been in limbo since 12-21 at 10:15am.

Having hit all the local shops in the last week or so, I'm surprised people are still finding anything to buy.
