The couple guns ive build up palm swells on i used real small wood screws run into the grip area for that the devcon would havne somthing to form a mechanical lock to rather than just releying on the adheasion proterties of the epoxy , this is probably totaly uncalled for its just gave me a piece of mind </div></div>
thats actually brilliant... really brilliant </div></div>
I have all the Devcon compounds for testing, including all the Brownells products, but frankly I'm an old ACRAGLAS user and it works well. For Bolt rifles, Marine Tex is superb. McMillan uses Marine Tex. I used Devcon for M14s in the USGI Mil Spec days, I have no love for using putty on a gas rifle. ACRAGLAS holds up better and I'm sure the testing I'm getting into will back that up. It also flows exceptionally well, which can also be tricky if you don't know the tricks to using it. Simple issue: Use clay or Play dough dams. Works nicely and little clean up. However it gives you a very nice matted area to the metal.
