About 90 minutes ago I'm in a small local gun store looking for a taper crimp die.
The place had a decent crowd, all with cash in hand, well, plastic in hand, the economy doesn't have cash any longer,
and watched as remanufactued, non-name brand 223 was going for a doallar a cartridge. No one questioned the price point of the material. Folks farther away from the counter were offering to buy from the buyers at more than they had paid.
Store owner said he's sold over 200 guns last weekend at current market price. Store owner was down to 1 case of 16 FNH AR mags, at $90.00 per each. Estimated they would not last the entire day.
So if one walks into the store willingly, stands in line patiently to pay current asking price..................is it really gouging or just good economic conditions.
I mean, W.C. Fields made an excellent point.
