    Colorado Springs, CO
They broke ground over a year ago and it looks like the grand opening will be Jan 26.

It's on Carson but you will NOT have to register your guns on post to use it. There will be pistol and rifle ranges (to 800 yards if sources are correct). It will be open to the public and cost a "nominal" fee.

I will try to dig up more info this week.

..and no more Dragon Man's for me. Awesome, thanks for the heads up.

After the recent incident at DM, I don't think it will even be open much longer (and good effing riddance)

What recent incident? Unless you mean his wife..?

Re: New Range at Ft. Carson / Colorado Springs

    The short version:

After appearing on Larry the Cable Guy's show, Dragon Man was approached and offered his own "Reality" show. While filming the opening sequence when everyone walks out of a cloud of smoke, the rockets they were using to generate the smoke (illegal, home made, steel-bodied, 4" military-type rockets) broke loose.

The first one knocked her off her feet and the second one entered her shoulder and exited her ass. When the emergency crews showed up his first words were "Am I going to be able to open the range tomorrow?"

ATF descended like a swarm of locusts and found a LOT of illegalities had been going on (and these idiots were making videos of themselves doing it). Mind you, because of his past he was not able to get all the C3 paperwork, so everything was in his wife's name.

Sad that his wife went that way, but from all accounts the whole family are assholes, attention whores, and an enormous embarrassment to the shooting community.

I knew his wife had died "in an explosion", but didn't know the rest of that. I wonder how he's remained the only game (no membership range) in town for so long.
