I caught a great deal on a 700 in .223 with very few rounds down range. I was thinking of going .260 or 6.5creedmore (both rounds being new to me, im not sure which is better for me) so I know I need a .308 bolt face. Are the ptg bolts that are fluted and already threaded for oversize knob any good?

A .223 bold face can be opened up .308 spec. My Weatherby .260 used to be a .223, including the bolt.

It took about 20 minutes on my lathe to open the face up to fit the .473 casehead. I actually opened my up to .478 and it works great. On a Remington i'm not sure how you'd get the extractor right, but on the Weatherby i just ordered a .308 extractor from Midway.
