Hey guys,

Just an FYI and hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. Not that there is any .224 55gr bullets left anyway. BUT, I had an order of 2000 55gr spsx .224 bullets that I placed on Dec 20th. Waited very patiently until today, I decided to email them to add an order of 53gr vmax bullets to my existing order placed on the 20th that had not shipped yet.

The next email reply back was they have combined my orders but now I lost my place in line for the 2000 bullets I had already ordered with a confirmed invoice of instock bullets. Those bullets that I had ordered is now on back order and are unavailable.

I told them to switch it back and please just send the two separate orders and the
reply was this is not possible.

I understand the current state of obtaining components. I know it's crazy. However, nothing else was communicated regarding the fact that if I combined my orders I would lose the 2000 bullets that I had already ordered and should be shipping this week sometime.

End result. I'm SOL and I now have to get inline with the existing 250,000 backorders they have (actual number not made up) for bullets.

Bottom line folks, if you have orders that you're waiting on shipment from Powder Valley, do not try and add anything to it, just place another order separately and be done with it.

Just to add. I have been a loyal customer from them for the last 4 years since I found out about them and I'm always reccommending them to others. I will probably still buy from them, but needless to say I'm left a little dissappointed with the customer service.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Well, I've had success with them also but I have to say you are getting the shaft. They can manually override any "system" to fix an obviously unfair situation. Good luck with your backorder.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

How long does it take you to go through 2000 bullets?

See, it's the fault of all the panic "stockpilers" that we're in, the situation that we're in.

ALL suppliers should have placed reasonable limits on orders of ammunition, and reloading components so that there would have continued to have been enough to go around.

Now, those of us that didn't succumb to the panic buying bullshit, as well as those that did, are all paying the price.
It will be months before I'll be able to shoot with my sons again.

Point is, no one is shooting any more than they used to...and while supplies were sometimes tight, we could always get what we needed, even if we needed to source different suppliers.

Now, most of us have shit, and a few of us, have enough for Armageddon.

Great.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Midway says they will have them in stock Friday

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

These bullets were not just for me but for two other folks that we placed an order in at the same time.....

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Thanks for the heads up.. Ill check midway...

Frogman,
I'd be pissed off myself. Powder Valley is very easy to deal with, IMO.

What was this other whiney post about?
Thanks John L

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Yea your pussy hurts. We get that.

The last thing they (or the rest of the people that have orders with them) is a bunch of changes. They accommodated your change in a fashion they felt best overall for their business.

If you don't like the way they run their business, go elsewhere. I'm sure the other places that charge another $20/jug for powder will be happy to bend over and lick your ass right now.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Man, I'm glad I don't buy anything from you...I suppose if you called your gunsmith and said you wanted to order another rifle and he said "sure I can do that, btw the first build you had with me that you waited for 8 months already I sold it to someone else this morning so I could build this one you just ordered."

Sounds reasonable to me.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Cracka is on crack , just cause you updated your order dosent mean you should lose your current

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

It sucks to get back in the line and wait but like Frogman said it is what's best for overall business

Could you imagine if 250,000 people changed their orders

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

I've had great luck communicating with Powder Valley's customer service. One of my packages got lost in the mail for a few days and they were all over it, and kept me updated every step of the way.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Look, they dont need my business. I know that and so does everyone else. All I did was buy more bullets and losta chunk of my other order just to have them put it in the same box. They could have said no and that would have been fine and better off. But they chose to say yes but we took part of your other order and sold it to someone else even though it was all going to ship in a few days.

Will I still buy from them?? Yes! I said that already. My post is fair warning to those who are still waiting and maybe might want to add to their order like I did.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

It's crap that it happened but like you said it was what it was.

No real need for the other stuff.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

At the rate stuff was being consumed you likely never had it anyway...Just hadn't been updated to current inventory and when the dust settle and they realized well we dont have this guys stuff so just send him an email we are combining his other order on back order...

I would hate to be in retail firearms, ammo, and components right now... I would probably do just like many of them have done and just leave the phone off the hook... They are human...They can only do so much...Powder Valley has been great for me but at the rate they are receiving orders I just dont know how they could even begin to keep track of it all. Its a small place not some giant company with shit piles of people running the phones, checking emails, boxing, labeling, inventorying, and shipping.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

2,000 is not a lot. I ordered 10k BEFORE the panic. I also check my generator before hurricane season.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

I just changed my order today w/PV & had not a single problem with them doing that for me.

FYI I had 5700 of those same bullets for sale for over a year then when the panic hit 4 weeks back they sold over night!

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

2000 is definitely not a lot. Some people "think" they shoot a lot. Hell, we used to get together and order a pallet of 5.56 between a group of guys. Then again, most had registered receiver M16s or other 5.56 MGs.

I didn't research Powder Valley's policies but it seems they could have had something that advised you an order change could have an impact on your overall order. Although, the current buying frenzy has most firearms related businesses functioning well beyond their normal op tempo.

Live and learn.

Great.

Some of us that shoot Service Rifle Match (granted I don't think that is what the OP does with this purchase) go through 600 a week. So if you do the math, not very long. Other guys that practice for 3 gun or etc. might shoot also as much and possibly shoot that grain, I can't tell you.

Hell, maybe he just enjoys the sport with his family.

But what I can tell you is that for a person that shoots often or in my household where there are 3 people shooting often, 2000 bullets purchase is from a panic stockpiler. It is a every other month purchase.

We shoot that much 45 acp in a month and half even in the winter.

I have been also and not real happy at the moment. I placed an order on the 19th. It is getting UPS today. They are good company and this will not be a end all for me by any means, but if they could communicate a little better it would go a long ways.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Chalk it up to the fact that there are a zillion other people out there with 20k bullet orders because they think that bullets will be banned next month or some other idiocy.

Exactly what I have done

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

PVI has always been square with me. In fact called to make sure order was what it was, what they had & if I wanted to ship as is or ???? yep, this was before this "panic" but I got my order in or 4 8#s of one powder, 12 of 14 + bullets & primers for 6+ shooters.
deal with it if you order during "Crisis" ... ought to have your S#!T squared away beforehand.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Sad o hear hope they make it right.Just keep us posted to see and offer us the chance to say if we want to still use them.Me I have always had good luck with them.Hope they make it right.

I just think everyone is overwhelmed in the firearms industry.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Midway does the same thing, if you have to add to your previous order that hasnt shipped it all gets deleted and you start over.

Hi gosu,

I think that's exactly right. The traffic right now is like nothing I've ever seen (and I'm not such a young guy). I do feel bad for the OP, but I confess I also feel bad for many of the retailers (not as bad, seeing as they're totally makin' bank right now). They've been completely overwhelmed.

Yours,

David

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

That is correct with Powder Valley. You might get away with changing the quanity but please do not add anything unless you talk with the right person. Not all people have the same skills. Powder Valley will not hold your order until the out of stock items come in. They will only ship BO as they arrive.

Now Mid South is a different story. They will pull your order and wait for BO items to come in and then ship your order all at once. When I am not in a hurry this works good for me. You have to tell them to ship complete at time of order.

I can only laugh when I walk into the local Gander. They don't even bother restocking the shelves anymore with ammo. They just drop the pallet in the middle of the floor and let all the buzzards pick away. It reminds me of the $5 DVD bins at Walmart.

I spoke to a guy the other day when he was in a local store buying (2) 1000 round boxes of .223 ammo. He didn't fit the mold in my book of a avid shooter so I asked the silly question "stocking up for the Zombies?". His answer blew me away. He said "I don't even own a gun anymore, soon this shit will be worth more than gold".

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

I also waiting powder to available in their stock.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

I have always had great luck with Powder Valley. Brian has personally called me when he ran out of a certain bullet that I ordered...like a bulk 500 box, and then offered to ship me 5-100 round boxes (same lot) at no additional charge.

They usually get my orders right out, and send shipping confirmation. I can't complain and have used them for years.

It's just crazy times right now...glad I stocked up last summer on "everything". I should be good for at least 2-3 years of handgun & rifle shooting.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

Well, I'll stir the pot a bit more with all you(now popularly called "whiners") who waited until the very last minute after a crisis and then somehow think it is everyone (here is where the now popular term "hoarders" comes in) elses fault you can't get what you want.

So let me ponder and take a wild stab at your usual behavior and procrastination.....You have a date for next month. This date has regularly in the past rewarded you with a good romp in the rack. You know from the past that she doesn't use any type of oral birth control and you must use a condom! Soooooo, you don't buy a condom anytime during that month. You don't buy a condom anytime the week before or that day before picking her up. You don't buy a condom on the way to the resturant nor do you stop and buy one before you go dancing, drinking, or whatever the hell you do for a few hours. Things are going good and she has clearly indicated that you are gonna get laid tonight!!!! HOWEVER, you don't need it RIGHT NOW do you???

Soooooo, on your way to her place you still DO NOT stop and buy a condom!!! You STILL put it off and put it off during wine, necking.......more necking on the couch along with foreplay. She says, "let me go freshen up and get into something comfortable"! You STILL don't feel any urgency nor rush to go buy a condom while she is in the rest room. Out she comes in the frilly lil Victoria's Secret slutty outfit she always wears when things 'are about to get good' and she says "lets go to my bed"!!!!!

Sooooo.....you kick off yer shoes and to her bedroom you go grinnin like a a 2 peckered puppy that just seen his first cat. Now....remember you still don't have a condom but do you go now before you undress and buy one? OH HELL NO...don't need it yet right????

Soooo.....now you are buck naked and so is she, hotter than a fresh f*cked fox in a flax field and DUH, I need a condom!!!

Quickly redress, jump in the car and drive like Jeff Gordon to the Walmart just down the street a few blocks, run in and head straight for the rubber rack!!!! Ooooooohhhh, NO RUBBERS and you just see the 'RUBBER HOARDER' going around the corner of the isle with 6, YEA SIX FUCKIN RUBBERS in his hands. WHY THAT DIRTY ROTTEN HOARDING NO GOOD INFLATION DRIVING PIECE OF SHIT just cost you a good lay!!!!!! How dare that SOB buy all 6, YEA SIX flippin rubbers, shit as far as your concerned there is no way he is gonna use them all tonight, he is just hoarding them and the UGLY BASTARD probably has to beat his meat and uses them then cause you know you're the stud in town!!! ...and besides that because they were the last ones he pd $5, yea FIVE FUCKIN DOLLARS apiece for them. Why the high prices even though it has been advertised for weeks that tonight was 'prom' night and that shouldn't have had any influence on rubber runs should it???

It is HIS fault you are standing in Walmart with a Boner and NO rubbers!!!!!!! It just isn't right and you surely didn't do anything wrong because you still had 5 or more minutes of foreplay and maybe oral before you REALLLLLLYYYYYYY NEEDED IT!!!!! So its not like you didn't plan ahead is it??????

Just ain't right.... even though you knew a month ahead of time you would need a condom and it was prom night tonight!!!!

Seems like a fair comparison to me but then again I am a bit warped and those of you whom have no rubbers is gonna blame guys like me for the situation you are in!! Think that is something like narcassism or flat flippin being unprepared and not blaming the REAL person responsible????

Point yer finger atem, close yer nondominant eye and say pewww, pew pew pew LOL

Flame away gentleman! I feel better that I have contributed some usefull advice for the weekend and will sleep well because of it.

Same here. My last order (day after the election) included a four pounder of Clays, but I ordered and was charged for an eight. Called PV and a very nice lady called me back and asked for the lot number. A few days later another four pounder of the same lot arrived.

They could have just refunded the difference and not taken a hit on the HAZMAT and freight. That is topnotch customer service, IMO.

Re: powder valley inc, DON't Change your orders!

They've also got two websites, one is not real. I logged in, checked stock, ordered bullets, gave card number and so on. The next day I got an email informing me that that site was not real: "I apologize but you have placed an order on a website that is under construction. We did not receive your order. Please place your order online at www.powdervalleyinc.com" which is where I thought I was. So I emailed back that I still wanted the bullets, and got this: "I’m terribly sorry but can you order these at www.powdervalleyinc.com We did not receive any information other than this email." and of course they don't answer the phone.
So I bought bullets elsewhere. But: Why in God's name would you have a fully functioning website that doesn't actually DO anything? Especially without a banner/disclaimer, "Hey, this is a project, go to this link for our real website"? I've ordered from them before, so it all looked ok to me.
Weird. Plus now I'm watching my bank account closely to see if the VISA number went anywhere, or the site immediately erased it. Prob'ly go get a new debit card just in case.
