Re: Best of 2012 - IMHO

How much to make a stock Remington 700 bolt like the one in the first pic?

ncarguy,

Here is the break down:

Badger knob - not sure what the going rate is.35.00? Maybe someone can chime in.

Bolt knob install - 75.00

Vortex fluting - 85.00

Coating of entire bolt - 75.00

Ship/insurance - 12.00

Looks like about 235.00 + the cost of the knob.

Or, any of my knobs are available for 20.00 w/install.

Please let me know if I can be of service.

As a customer of Paul's, I'll vouch for his work and price point. You won't find a better machining job for you bolts/barrels.

Paul, how about the Tac 6 spiral flutes on a barrel?

Thanks for the kind words.

I do TAC 6 spiral fluting on barrels quite often, but I use a .250 dia. cutter instead of the .500 cutter that is used on bolts. The most frequently requested twist is 180 degrees. Toying with the idea of offering 8 flutes as well. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys.
