??? 42-round PMAGs ???

Are you talking about the +18 Nordic Components PMAG extensions? If so, those make 48-round, not 42-round mags, but they do work well for 3-gun or where you need more than 30 rounds without having to do a mag swap...although not so well for use from the bench or prone unfortunately.

If that's the case, the price had better be as close to free as humanly possible because every single one of the Promag AR mags I have seen or had the misfortune to use has been a total waste of time or hit/miss at best. Not long ago, retailers were having difficulty giving them away at $6-7 below MSRP (of only $19 mind you) because they are so unreliable. Typical Promag QC/design/etc.

Palmetto State had them for $10 each before the panic.

Re: 42 round pmags in stock

I called the number earlier and I was told they were $70 each! The gentleman said they were PMAGS, but I think the above is correct; must be ProMAG.

That's not too bad...only about $10 over their reasonable value!

FWIW...Magpul commented on these a while back (couple years) when they were first intro'd because of the visual similarities with their PMAGs. While they acknowledged some "appearance" issues, Magpul said that they wouldn't pass their QC standards (and that was basically ALL they would say).

Clearly, the "appearance" issues are drawing people in or the dealer in question is either too dumb to realize what he's selling or intentionally trying to pass these mags off as something that they clearly ARE NOT!

Don't be fooled folks...these mags are SHITE!

Must be the reason it took unprecedented panic buying for Palmetto to finally get rid of them.

Re: 42 round pmags in stock

I just bought a couple of these from academy a few days ago. So far i have had no issues with them as i have probably put a couple hundred rounds through them
