Let's see how smart the hiders are

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Flunked college algebra the first time I took it. Due to a better professor and more hard work, got an "A" the second time I took it.

I sure hope I'm correct or Dr. Woodward will be disappointed.

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

I took Calc I, II, III, and Differential equations (along with a few others) and I still had to go over it a few times to make sure my order of operations was right.

That being said the answer is clearly -7.82

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

73%, really? No wonder the country is screwed up. It is obvious the answer is -e^(i*pi)+sin^2(x)+cos^2(x)+x+x^4 when x is equal to 2.

After seeing someone post PEMDAS I voted for 20... Nice new avitar VJJ, reminds me of ol private snowballs

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Kinda surprised, considering how heavily our shooting relies on math skills, and only 60% thus far have gotten it correct. (I'm 93% sure that 73% statistic falls into the old "81% of statistics are made up" saying). The correct answer is 20, as many of you commented, you must remember your order of operations (PEMDAS or other saying to help remember it) which gets broken down into three tiers, each of which must be fully completed before the next can be started. First tier is the Parentheses and Exponents, followed by second tier which is Multiplication and Division, than lastly, the third tier of addition and subtraction.

The equation
4 x 4 + 4 x 4 + 4 - 4 x 4 =

First Tier- Parentheses and Exponents
- None apply so move to tier two

Second Tier- Multiplication and Division
4 x 4 + 4 x 4 + 4 - 4 x 4 =
= 16 + 16 + 4 - 16 = After Tier two is complete.

Third Tier- Addition and Subtraction
16 + 16 + 4 - 16 = After Tier two is complete.
= 20 After Tier three is complete.

Or
0010100 in binary as some stated above. Not even going to get into Hex, I'll be honest I had to Google that one.

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Has nobody else noticed that it says 20 just outside of the box in faint letters?

I'll be damned. Didn't notice it before. But it is there!

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Great, now what does that tell us when only one guy noticed the answer was there all along...?

Real observant we are

Screen has to be at the correct angle.

Thank you, I couldn't see it on the iPad; but definitely there on the desktop!

I've always wanted one of these.. the binary LED watch.

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Sitting here with a laptop and at a "normal" viewing angle, the 20 does not appear. However, once I begin to angle the screen in different way, 20 does show up. But it takes some work!

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Sure as shit it does...I can lean way left or way right and see it.

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

Funny thing such basic things present such problems.

And then we would like to discuss ethics, history, 2nd, right and wrong, economics, politics and how we should have our society to function and roughly 60% of population can't do basics.

I guess it's not hard to see why some in power consider other people as their subjects...

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

I calculated 24 . . .

octal . . . but I guess that dates me . . .

Or 15 in base 15...

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

I saw the faint 20 but I figured it was a trap : )

Re: Let's see how smart the hiders are

The answer is 20 but its just because another lame brain liberal wanted to make things difficult.
