Hi all, if I wanted to fill the action area in my Robertson Composites fiberglass stock so that it could be re-inletted and repainted with a different action installed, what would I use? Some sort of epoxy I would guess? I'm assuming there's something better than bedding compound (ie. devcon etc) ?

Re: Fiberglass rifle stock filler?

I would contact Chad Dixon at Longrifles as this is right up his alley.

Well I'm actually in Canada, so shipping the thing might be more of a problem/cost than it's worth. I do have a guy that would certainly do an excellent job (Ian Robertson formerly Robertson Composites owner), just curious if anyone knows the materials used doing a job like this in case I wanted to attempt it myself.I have a small milling machine, and have inletted laminate stocks before.

You won't find a better person than Ian. Just let him do it. Ian and I have known each other a long time. Tell him hello for me when you see him.

Yeah, I'm thinking that might be the best way to go, at least then I'll know it's done right!
