Well,

This month I left EMS and the life of a Paramedic to finally work full time as an RN in an Emergency Dept at a hospital. I can honestly say I have had fun in the 7 years on an ambulance. I am now swapping my uniforms for scrubs, and look forward to getting more time with my son. At least now I can get him every other weekend. To all the medics out here on Snipers Hide, I promise I wont forget my roots. I will always view myself a Paramedic first, and RN second.

CEP/RN can typically make great money flying! The switch allowing more time with your son is a great and admirable reason. Enjoy the ER and extra time with your son. I would suggest trying to pull and occasional shift and maintaining your CEC's, polotics in the hospital can be worse then prehospital!

I'm suprised it took you that long.. Even some of the suburban Philadelphia medics around my way are doing 5000+ runs a yr. With the exception of a few 3 yrs is about the life expectancy of an Emt/Medic on a busy truck around these parts. Good luck in the new journey, I know how it feels...

Good choice for you, your son and the people you help.

Thanks for your service to your community, and good choice!
