What scopes are you guys useing on the 1000 to 2000 yard guns.
I am getting the parts togethor for a 338 snipetac and wanted to now what scope to start watching for.
I have a nightforce 5.5x22x56 but have been looking at uso and schimdt and bender and other high end optics.
thanks

Re: 1000 to 2000 yards

I like the NF f1 with MLR 2.0. The 3-15 has a little more elevation and a really good reticle for holdover ( both were needed to get to 2500 yds ).
The new Beast looks to be a ideal scope for your application when it becomes available and proven.

Re: 1000 to 2000 yards

Lots of guys like the Vortex Razor because of the 35mm tube it gives lots of elevation adjustment. Great Warranty also, for a heavy caliber gun it's nice to know a company will stand behind it no questions asked.

I'm thinking of getting an HTI .50 and later maybe a .375 Cheytac barrel for it and I think I will give the Razor a try.

Re: 1000 to 2000 yards

I use a NF 5.5-22x56 HS ZS with the MOAR and it works great. Just used it for 2100 yards with my .338 Lapua today as a matter of fact.

Re: 1000 to 2000 yards

I've been running an S&B 5-25x P4F for about five years now out to 2000 yrds. Sometimes I wish I had a bit more magnification but overall in a 40MOA mount I can usually get the most out of the 30 mils of elevation in the scope.

Re: 1000 to 2000 yards

Razor is a great "budget" ELR scope. Lot's of elevation. Bombproof. Accurate turrets. Was good for 2300 yds. with my 300WM.

MY NXS could have done the job too, but when it came around to all-around capability, the FFP Razor won the day.

The SB is better glass and a finer reticle at a much higher price, but if you can't see it or your reticle is so thick it covers the target... you get the idea.
