So, I already didn't care for the site, I listed an AR for sale at a great price. I had the rifle listed under complete rifles in the EE section. The rifle didnt have a BCG or Ch. so after a days worth of viewing, some guy bumps my ad with " how is this a complete rifle?" . So, I pm'd the guy and told him that I didn't appreciate his negative stomp on my ad, and that he should have pm'd me and the mods could have moved it. Then he tells me one more pm and he's going. To report me for harassment . So after publicly stomping my ad, I publicly ( in my ad) told him what I thought about him and his bullshit. He turned it around publicly stating that he was just trying to help out a " noob "! I was in ar15adviser for years with thousands of posts. Never did I ever have a problem with anyone . Once maybe! So I received an email saying my account was locked and suspended indefinitely. I then told the moderator what I thought about their bullshit, after getting nasty with him , his reply was "no need to get nasty". I could care less about getting booted from a site that has a reputation for stupidness ! Anybody else had any problems with them . Ar15adviser was started as a getaway from arfcom idiots. SH is so much better. Oh and I'm having a custom gun built with a Shilen barrel, and trued action. This is my introduction to SH!

Oh, I get it. Someone there said you could find that which you sought somewhere between "sh_t" and "syphillis", and you found Sniper's Hide.

Welcome!

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

Their general discussion makes for some interesting reading at times, and alot of 'that guy' posts.

If you need anything technical, it's like asking what the best round for self defense is out loud at a gunshow...

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I just basically used the site for sales. Any technical data I learned elsewhere. There are too many moderators who think they have " king" status! If I get any more emails from them , I will forward them. Y'all should get a kick out of my exchanges.

Best. Description. Of. Arfcom. Ever.

Amen to so many so called "Internet Gods" in reality they are Asshole AR15.com moderators hiding behind a keyboard.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

It took one asshole to basically make me " flip my wig". My post count on there was very low, under 10 probably. Most of the adviser forum members , were people who wanted to get away from Arfcom. We had a basic " campfire" rule on the adviser forum. It worked! Don't treat new people poorly, educate them, and help them research their questions fir themselves. Rather than 100 people giving 100 different opinions. We didn't take kindly to trolls either. If you screwed up multiple times, you were warned. Any further abuse was handled . Arfcom is basically a communist site, where you have zero say . I've seen people's ads locked because of the stupidest reasons ! Longrange shooting is my new hobby, I've been shooting out to 800 yards with various calibers. 260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmore, 308., 338 lapua. Some of my " high end" friends have brought me into their long range " club " . As I stated before , a local gunsmith is currently building me a custom. Here's the specs so far: g serialed rem700 action trued, lugs lapped , ptg bolt, badger knob, Shilen select match 1/10 308 match chamber, threaded with Holland timed Brake. Older rem trigger @ 1.5 lbs. I'm still looking for the right stock . Thinking about a Mcmillan A4, A5. Maybe a manners T4a. I bought a Vortex Viper Pst 6-24x50 w/ EBR-1. Bought that here on the Hide. Thanks for the "welcomes" y'all !

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I'm still getting crappy emails from the moderators. The name Stryker keeps coming up on his email. Every time I see it I chuckle a little bit , think of the movie "airplane "! "Striker"......"Striker" bam!

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

Post the exchanges between you and the mods or it didn't happen.

Even though they were jackasses about it... technically they were right. It wasn't a complete rifle. LOL

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

Seriously - you wear a wig? Are sure its not just a hairpiece?

You sound like a fun dude already...how the hell did you get "high end" friends...are they available in the equipment exchange over on that website?

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I used to hang out there in the General Discussion and AK47 areas, but they were just too much of a pain to attempt to keep up with. I guess if I had no other sites I participated at, then I could keep up, but obviously that's not the case. Nowadays, I only hang around in their chat room which is pretty cool.

Never had a problem with them other than when I had my account locked back in either 2004 or 2005 because I was a minor at the time and apparently minors weren't allowed there. After I turned 18 I was let back in. While I never had any real major problems with them, I do feel they got WAY too many moderators that have the ability to lock accounts and I don't support their policy of having to work things out with the specific moderator who locked your account. That type of policy never works because if the moderator has a personal vendetta against you, you're fucked!

Anyways, welcome to the Hide!

Last time I was there the average age seemed to be about 14.

Mental for certain. Not sure about physical.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I've stopped visiting that site at all and like others just use the marketplace. There are too many issues going on with the site. Just don't ever disagree with anyone there lol...

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

They have a decent EE, anything else, not so much...

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I can remember going into AR15.com a couple of times, but then I've walked into many funky smelling stores, looked around, saw nothing interesting, and then walked out.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I was permanently kicked off for my comments on Oregon politics on the hometown forum. The moderator got butthurt when I brought up how Oregon was becoming "Californiacated". Apparently he became upset with me and about 6 other blokes who agreed. We have all been kicked off for about 6 years.

One time I had some questions on suppressors. On that thread I was told how stupid I was and I didn't know anything about "cans". I had the feeling I was one of the only people who actually had a suppressor. Here on the hide I asked a question, got an answer, PMed a guy and sent him cash. He sent me a custom made thread adapter back! My faith in humanity was restored.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

When I mentioned " high end friends", were talking about guys who have a whole safe full of surgeon, AI Aw's, Gap rifles. I started shooting with them last year. Shoot 40 rounds, and hop into the "new range rover" pulling a utility trailer, to back the target up another 200 yards or so. They definitely have more coin than I do. Schmidt and Benders on every rifle ( except mine). And these guys can shoot! Some if them are ex military with very profitable businesses. So I primarily go along for the ride, and I get to shoot some bad ass equipment. And back to the " flip my Whig" comment, I hate people who talk shit, just to talk shit. They wouldn't have the balls to say it to my face. My .02
Thanks, I like this site!

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

It was a pretty funny exchange of comments. I actually saw the rant between you and that guy in your post.

EE is decent....way over priced for everything, but there's a selection if you've got the cash.

Home town forum is good for setting up local outings to a range.

That's the extent of it, besides the overwhelming savage love fest.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

That site is definitely a trip to try to get used to. I've long been in the habit of editing my original posts in threads once an item is sold to "SPF" where the price had been listed. Apparently that's a big no no over there, and something I've gotten dinged on a couple of times already.

It's also a rule here. Like the other poster said it helps other sellers and buyers gauge the going rate.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

The EE area is about all I can handle over there anymore. I've spent some time there a handful of years ago but not so much anymore. Skim whats new, choke on the prices and move along. Anything that is even close to a deal is sold before I see it.

Side note, is the "lower receiver" section a newer addition to the EE (you can tell how often or how much I pay attention over there)? You were stuck between complete and just lowers so what the fuck does a guy do anyway.

No loss leaving there and welcome here.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I got banned from that site after I sold a barreled upper receiver to a guy, who came back over three months later to tell me it doesn't shoot strait.

So a dude bought and used something for 1/4 of the year and then comes back to report a problem with it not "shooting strait".

He was taking an optic off another AR he had, putting it on my upper and expecting it to hold zero. I'm like "you've got to be shitting me".

Then he tells me my barrel is "bent" and wants his money back...

I told him to smoke my fucking pole and got banned LOL

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I used to go there but way back in the day there was far too many kids who got their knowledge about AR's from video games. Try to post anything that is true then 30 assholes would bash your comments on what they thought.

Armalite advertises there what a joke.

It's like a fucking elementary school playground. I'll check Industry once in a while, that's it.

Did you publicly tell him to smoke your pole? Either way, that is some funny shit.

Re: Funny story about Ar15.com

I got the boot for telling the guy, " to go fuck himself", and "you suck balls " , "and this site fucking sucks " one if the moderators sent me an email stating " this guy no longer wants to be on ar15.com , Really, no shit!

Hi,

Why and How do you say they denied you even signing up??
Looks as if you joined them on 22 Mar 21 at 10.45:01 PM EDT. And you are in Dunnellon Fl so timezone matches, lol

Also, this thread you just posted in is 9 years old, hahaha

Sincerely,
Theis

I hope you already have the bolt if it's from PTG. I would highly recommend not dealing with PTG unless you just love disappointment.

My LGS told me "PTG is the word of God" one time (in reference a set of gauges that I got from them that were off), so I know their rep still gets them business with folks who haven't used them in a long time.

Just go search the PTG thread and you can see , probably hundreds of us who have learned the hard way.

Anywho,,, welcome and good luck with your build. Show pics when it's done and you shoot it.
In this case I'd say he's gotten his ptg bolt by now.

Looks like you are partially right. I am in Dunnellon and this thread is 9 years old. Aside from that you are completely wrong.
