Years ago there was a big problem killing thousands of people a year... drunk driving.

How many people a year? 25,000.
http://www.alcoholalert.com/drunk-dr...tatistics.html

So how did they fix it? Did they go after law abiding drivers? Did it become harder to get a drivers license for a law abiding driver? More driving restrictions, more regulation? Did they limit the size of gas tanks? Did they limit how many beers they serve in a 6-pack or in a bar? No, no, no, no, no.

They enforced the laws on the books and increased the penalties for drunk driving. There were no changes that affected the law abiding driver.

Re: Simple Gun Control Analogy

VCP's similar to the "stop and frisk" policy that NYC attributes to its decreased murder rate.

Yep, Legally violating the 4th seems to work, but I digress.

Re: Simple Gun Control Analogy

Nevertheless, punishing drunk drivers for driving drunk correlates well with what is lacking in the current hysterical tirade passing for "Debate".

Distracted, were you?

I think its a good analogy. Any idea of recent stats since the stepped up penalties/ enforcement?

Re: Simple Gun Control Analogy

I have seen noting but pure propaganda and lies from the gun control people as is their norm. They do not have one single valid or sound premise to support the issue based question,"Do we need more gun control or bans?"
Every time I get into a discussion and point out these mistakes to my fellow students, I make ten more reasonable supporters for the second amendment and no bans. The best thing about it is that most of my fellow students who are not vets are females under 32. When reasonable people are given the right information...oh wait, these are educated reasonable people, not your average rabid liberal ignoramus
