New S&W AR10 Anyone got one?

I just picked up a S&W M&P AR10 in 308 from a local dealer, anyone gotten one of these? It has a sporter profile barrel and isn't free floated but I figured that can be upgraded with a Criterion barrel later.

How do they shoot? I like that they put ambi controls on it and the price is really good too?

hopefully with so many new 308's entering the market a bolt may get easier to come by

All the 308s on the market is part of WHY bolts are so hard to come by...

Knowing Smith, we'll probably see them showing up on shelves in another 3-4 weeks. They're never as fast as Ruger in releasing new items, but typically if they announce something it'll show up for sale somewhere within a month or two at most.

I wonder how that would work out with the bolt catch on the right side... Seems like it might be just out of reach of my trigger finger.

Well I got one and they are already out on the market, local dealer got about 25 or 30 of them and they were probably gone by the end of the day.

The machining and finish is excellent, plus looks like the ambi controls were well thought out, I will try to post some pictures tonight. It is also a mid length gas system on an 18" barrel 1/10 twist, so even right out of the box it should shoot decent.

Barrel and handguard will get replaced with a Criterion barrel and probably a JP or Troy rail with adj gas block. Should be a shooter.
