A lot like Saberhagen's <span style="font-style: italic">Berserker</span> books.

They could form the basis for a franchise, and so could Dickson's <span style="font-style: italic">Dorsai/Childe Cycle</span>.

I'm impressed. More of a mix of Terminator meets Battlestar Galactica on in an alien culture. Thanks for sharing.

Looked very promising. I loved the concept of the protector aliens being the incarnations of the Egyptian god Ra and/or Horus. Nice touch.
