So this is my first post on here, however I have been watching this forum for some time and never cared to create an account until now. But anyway I happened through a pawn shop today to see what kind of scopes they had. I have a F1 on my .308 and love it. So my first question was if he had any Night Force scopes and he gave me a funny look and said he doesn't like them. I bit my tongue and asked him why. He says Night Force makes a different brand that sells for half the price and has the same features. Has anyone else heard of this? I cant remember what brand he said because my blood was boiling at that point. Dont get me wrong, I would never buy one anyway. I chalked it up to his stupidity and left.

I've never heard of that; maybe he's thinking of the price difference between a F1 with zerostop and a non-F1. Or the difference between a 3.5-15 and 2.5-10.

Next time ask him if he has a Countersniper scope.

I asked about the zero stop and glass quality along with specs and he insisted I was dumb to buy NF version when they had a cheaper version made by the same people. That's the point when I walked out. No need to deal with those people. But now I'm curious on what brand he said. I get hard hard headed when people try to talk down to me on something I know is tested and true.

You learned a valuable lesson my friend. Most pawn shops, and even gun stores for that matter, won't have much, if any, actual knowledge on a mid-to-top tier scope. If you would have mentioned Schmidt and Bender, Premier, or Hensoldt, if he even recognized them, he may have gone on a rant that would have led to aneurysm in his brain. Either that, or he would recognize Schmidt and Bender and praise them because they're used by Marines...

I like going there to find things they don't know about. Few years back I picked up a HK91 for 400. Turned around and sold it for 1200. I'll have to send the wife in and get the brand name. I don't have the patience.

just did a quick online search for those. they arent half the price, they look to be about 1500. also, they look nothing like nightforce at all. seems wrong to make a comparison.

I got kicked out of his shop this time, and I even behaved. I guess he has too much pride in not knowing anything about high end scopes. It was a lopsided conversation. No zero stop or choice in reticles. The big blue turret looks annoying. All this started because I was wondering who (in my town) is selling the ATACR with the mil-r. Looks like ill be ordering one online.

Huskemaw has tried to compare themselves to Nightforce in the past and some parrots on the internet at other sites say they're the same... However they are NOT the same company at all nor same products.

Nightforce makes a much better scope.

He was dead set on them being a sister company that split off and made scopes for 1/2 price. He asked me to leave after I told him it was like trying to sell me a Kia at a Porsche dealer.

He's just mad you had the stones to stand up to him and prove him wrong. I think its great you got kicked out, only shows he can't prove shit.
