Rifle Scopes Looking for $500 glass

I have a few rigs that are not very 'mission critical' to my needs and I am looking to put some glass on them at about the $500 range. Typically don't limit the budget quite that much, and I would prefer a scope with a fast focus eyepiece. Tried a Burris Fullfield II and was disappointed. Something with 3x9 power is the target range.

Prefer good optics to origin of mfg. or name.

The Leupold VX-R and VX-R patrols are nice scopes, 3-9 with CDS, 30mm tubes. Various reticles. The dot can be turned down as to not overwhelm the whole reticle.

Zeiss conquest 3-9x40 / 3-9x50 or 3.5-10x44 or even 4.5-14x44/50 are all within your price range. You will like the galss.

Thanks men, victorz, I didn't realize the conquests were that low, I actually have several and they are among my favorite scopes. I'll have to shop around some more.

You can pick up a conquest 3-9x40 for 3 and change if looking for the duplex reticle. For a bit more you can find a retrofitted mil reticle if that better suits you.

Trijicon's accupoint can be found used around you range as well; glass is very good and illumination. And, another vote for Leopold's vxr. Its quite nice for the price.

That Vortex looks like a really nice scope for the money. Got one recently. Havnt shot it yet, but the glass is clear and the turrets adjustments are very 'clicky'.

some good suggestions, the last conquest I bought was a 3x9 and it was $400 about 3 yrs ago so I figured they'd gone up by now.
These scopes don't have to be 'tactical' these are some of my less often used rigs, will see target shooting out to 400 and general purpose hunting on ocassion.
