So here's my Remington SPS Tactical AAC with a HS Precision Olive Web stock. Just got the stock put on and the barrel got boogered up when I was taking the muzzle brake off a few weeks ago, so I'm planning on doing another duracoat job on it. But I can't decide if I wanna go back with the same color, do Magpul Flat Dark Earth, or if a color darker than the stock would look better. Any suggestions?

Re: Need advice on duracoat color

I have done a few OD green and tan jobs i like how they look and i like how your gun looks now, but since you have the black webbing on the stock I think that if you did the barreled action in a flat dark earth or just any slightly darker tan it would come out looking very nice.

Yeah the one thing I don't like about mine is that it has a greenish color to it. I wouldn't mind a really dark OD green barrel, but if its gonna be lighter I want it to be tan tan not greenish tan like it is now. I think I either want a middle of the road tan, a dark brown, or a dark OD green. But do they make web stencils to be able to do the webbing on the barrel also?

Re: Need advice on duracoat color

the webbing is not a stencil I believe it is something you add to the paint to make it spray like that but i could be wrong.

Ok I'll do some research on the webbing. But if you go to this link: http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_tactical.html is their tactical dark earth really that dark? If it is i like that. But if not then I think I'm gonna go with tactical od green.

Re: Need advice on duracoat color

the flat dark earth i do comes out a little lighter but now that i think about it im pretty sure it the magpul flat dark earth not the tactical

But if that's what OD Green will look like on my rifle then that's what I wanna do!

I like that!

I have yet to do anything to any of my long arms, but that is nice, IMO.

Apply duracoat color of your choice, then go at it with a can of Krylon webbing spray from Michaels. I'd practice on a piece of PVC or something first though. It takes a little getting use to.
