Hey guys. Trying to decide what trimmer to go with. I reload in 223 and 308. I like that the Forster 3 in 1 it does it all. Trim, cham and debur.

It looks like the WFT you still have to chamfer.

Any input from those who have used them?

Re: WFT or Forster 3 in 1?

I use a WFT and I have a friend with the 3 in 1. He has used my WFT a few times. The nice part if the WFT is than I can use my 308 for my 7-08, 260, and 243, where that can not be done with many other tools. Yes you have to debur the inside of the case mouth, but I do 300-500 pieces in batch on my drill press then attach my deburring tool to the drill press and do the case mouth. Yes, I handle the brass twice, but in 90 minutes I can do 500 pieces. I don't bother doing the outer deburring as I taper crimp and presses the brass.

I have 1 WFT for 308 and another for 223, and I trim every other firing, even though it may not be necessary. I have looked at a giraud trimmer for 308 (what I shoot the most), bit this system works for about $80 as I already had a drill press. It can also work on a drill in a vice or simply in your lap.

The biggest advantage to the 3 in 1 is that it is caliber specific, so if you oly shoot 308, 30-06, 300 min mag and 300 WSM, you are in luck. The biggest advantage to the WFT is it is case family usable, and I load the whole family, so it would have cost me 4x as much to go with the 3 in 1.

I wnet with a WFT in a cheap drill press, and a RCBS case prep center.

With the .308 WFT, I'll have about $270 invested total.

That way, I can speed / simplify case length trimming, and also control the exact amount of chamfer inside and outside of the case mouth.

Forster Original and pilots for .223, 6mm/.243, 6.5mm/.264, .277, .308, 8mm/.323.

I use it the most now.

I have WFT for .223 based, .308 based, .300 WSM based and RUM based cases. I wish it had a pilot.

All chamfer, debur and primer pocket work is done by hand.

but

I would not hesitate to get a Forster 3 in 1.

But there is a 8-32 threaded flash hole tool that this Hornady will accept?
