So did James Paris Lee... He's just not that well known here. He sure is in GB though.

I think there was a very brief USMC late summer romance with the Lee Metford back about the time of the Krag.

I'm off to Google more.

I'm talking about the 6mm Lee Navy in the 1895 Winchester (Lee-Navy). The rifle could use some safety features, but the round was phenomenal for it's day. That was about the time of the Krag, shortly after.
 
A Canadian who made good in the US, as opposed to H.W. McBride, an American who made good with the Canadians?
