I'm sure this has been covered but google searching the hide, with the new change had me going in circles....

I am beginning to work up a load for the 300 RUM using 200gr Barnes LRX

Anyone have a good place to start?
Powder type?
COL?

I started out a ways back with 91.0 gr RL25 pushing a 200AB out of a factory tube, great accuracy but piss poor temp stability. Then i went to 92gr. of Retumbo and all was well for some moons....rebarrelled with a tight chamber barrel, had pressure issues with retumbo....heard there was a hot batch around at that time, switched to H1000 and that is where I am at today. My current load is 86.0gr. H1000 pushing either 208 amax or 210 VLD at approx. 3060 and it's consistently 1/2MOA at the short ranges and holds in the ballpark as well as i can drive it at the longer ones. Clear as mud right?

My load for this bullet is:
85 grains retumbo
nosler annealed brass
GM215M primer
OAL of 3.660 for a .095" jump
3139 FPS at 12' with an es of 16 sd of 7

My bullets are also HbN coated and are being shot out of a 28" PAC-NOR tight neck chamber. I would start at 82 grains and work up from there. It shoots 1/4 moa and the bc on this bullet seems to be on the conservative side. When I get a break in the weather I plan on testing these bullets on caribou if I get so lucky.
