Gunsmithing Badger FTE Brake Boring

Can I chuck a Badger FTE brake in a 4 jaw on the brake OD or is the thing tapered.
Can I use the pilot bore to indicate from or does this need to be installed on a barrel and indicated from the bore?
Seem like a PITA to put the barrel in the lathe with a range rod just for a brake install.

PITA but the only way to do it because the barrel OD needs turned down behind the threads anyway (The FTE is a thread and clamp on brake)

I got the barrel turned down. But I wanted to mount it to the action. Waiting on a brake.

yep,

I always install the brake on the barrel and then bore it. only way to insure it is concentric with the bore.

I made an arbor for boring FTE brakes for bullet clearance.
I just thread the brake on to the arbor, clamp it in place and then bore the bullet exit holes.
