Can anyone tell me what the barrel diameter at the muzzle is on the Tikka T3 Sporter? The one with the orange/grey laminate stock.

I'm looking at the 24" .260 Remington and would like to drop it in a KRG Whiskey 3 stock.

I have the 24" in 6.5x55. Barrel at the chamber end is 1.131" and muzzle is 0.867".

Thank you. Does anyone know if this is the same profile as the Tikka Varmint and or Tactical line?

I wonder if you would just be better off buying a T3 lite with the right bolt face for cheap and have it re barreled. The sporter is a awesome gun for sure but buying it to get rid of the stock seems like a waste unless you could sell it for quite a bit

i think you would save some money doing it that way depending on what your gunsmith charges . tony

The T3 lite doesn't come with the oversized bolt knob does it? Even if not you guys are probably correct that rebarreling a lite is probably the least expensive way to go.

No it doesnt but I think it would be close either way except when the gunsmith builds it you can have it however you want

This rifle started it's life as a Lite model. We re-barreled it with a 28" med. Palma contour barrel and chambered it in 6.5X47. Finished it off with a Badger FTE brake. Added a HSS bolt handle and bolt shroud. Tuned up the factory trigger to around 8oz. Dropped it in a gen 2 KRG chassis and called it good.

Take care,Stan
