I came across several hundred NNY brass in a trade. I have read that this is essentially the same as PPU brass (its made by privi). Has anyone reloaded this brass, and more importantly, has anyone reloaded this brass for accuracy? Is this comparable to commercial or military brass? The only .308 I reload for is my Remington 700, so it would have to be capable of decent accuracy for me to make a run at it.

Yes, I use this brass quite a bit actually in one of my 700's

I have really never match prep'd it but it will shoot well if you can.

I load it under a mild amount of W748 (44gr) with a Hornady 150 FMJBT, it chronographs all day around 2600-2630 FPS from a 20" barrel.

I have gotten a few .6-.75 MOA groups out to 300 yards, a few inside .5 MOA at 100 yards.

Loaded mild this brass will go 6-8 loads before the primers start to get loose. The rim will also start to get out of round after this many loads as well.

Its far from Nosler or Lapua but its still on par with Winchester/RP

Not sure on case capacity compared to the most popular stuff but it sure works for me. I would be more cautious of what it was fired from before you load it up.

I use this brass in both of my 308's and they both shoot .5 MOA or better consistently. They shoot just as good with the privi brass as they shot with lapua ymmv.

Hope this helps.

Aloha!
