Where is all the .22 ammo??!!

I think ten day waits make us angry in CA..............Why else would there be so many shootings?
I need to go change my scope rings and get my shooter ready for all the lapua and wolf that showed up this week.

google is great

Brother have you been living under a rock? Wolf .22 ammo is produced by SK. It's nothing like the Wolf branded steel cased stuff that gets bump fired into berms. It's good target ammo. Match extra is the most consistent for comps, but match works very well.

I put together a little 10/22 and it shoots the CCI mini mags better than anything i have tried. Thanks for the input im gonna try the Wolf.

Interestingly enough due to many threads like this I did my rounds of local gun shops to stock up. In Canada we are fully stocked with every thing at all stores. I bought .22, 300wm, 12g, 9mm, .223 and had many brand choices and saw no signs of any shortage.
Keep telling my wife we need to move to Canada.

Talked to several of the local Walmarts and they haven't seen bulk packs in weeks. When they do get .22 they all said it never even makes it to the shelf

Wow, $.09/rd for CCI-SV.....the sad part is that someone will pay it.

For around here that doesn't seem so out of the norm. Even before all this bullshit I was paying 9.95 for a 100 rounds of CCI SV or MM from the local gun shops. Walmarts over here do not sell ammo.
I figure its evens out when you order it online line because you most likely pay shipping.

where is all the 22 ammo. easy question to answer. the person that usually bought a box of 50 is now buying a brick or two. the person that was buying by the brick is buying by the case. the case buyer is buying 2-3 cases or more. most i.e. 1/2 plus 1 round is either going into a stash never to see daylight or is going to the local gunshow where price is doubled. why are gunshops raising their prices? gouging maybe?? or consider this. how many times does that owner hear "that ammo i bought last week i doubled my money at the last gunshow." sc... you buddy. your price just doubled. i am going to profit from my scrounging for ammo daily not you. same with powder and primers. when this was ramping up i would help a customer pick out reloading supplies and i would ask what are you loading? oh i don't reload, i just heard supplies were getting low so i am buying all i can. did this the last time and made big money. shooters are their own worst enemy over the politicians. plus alot of shooters will through their brothers in arms to the wolves to save/protect their own niche. in pennsylvania the deer hunters will give up semis in a heartbeat. goesn't bother them. clay bird shooters will give up semis because most of them use singles and over/unders. selfish beyond belief. ps. that is also why the antis will win and the 2nd amendment will be relegated to the wastebin of history. you all can flame me now, but it is true.

Well you gave me permission so I will....... SHUT THE FUCK UP!! All this is true why? Because you said it? Assholes like you are spouting this shit all over the net, because you can't buy what YOU want, and you are pissed about it. You need to read this entire thread. It would appear you don't know shit, about MOST real gun owners. I am sick of this damn vitriol, from cock gobblers like you, who think they have found a captive audience to run everyone down and lump us all in the same basket. Ihaven't bought any 22 ammo in 3months, not that it is any of your business. If I was smart enough to buy a shit ton in December, and am now selling it for twice or 3 tmes the price, how the hell am I victimizing anyone. YOU HAVE FREE WILL MOTHERFUCKER!!
Asssholes like you are the problem with this country. You sound like a goddamned closet communist, the way you talk. So we should have price controls? Subsidizing? What is the answer to stop all this profiteering? I know! How about a law that says you can only make a certain amount of profit?
No one is making anyone buy ammo at inflated prices. You obviously do not know how supply and demand work. You obviously don't know anything about running a business. Do us all a favor and talk your guff somewhere else. Your pearls of wisdom look like just another bunch of sour grapes.

PS You are really gonna love it when the grocery store shelves are empty. Who's fault will it be when that happens, and you have nothing to eat?

I was at the right place / right time at Natcheze. They had golden bullets on their front page, but NOT in the product section. I ordered 2800 rounds at .06 cents/round. I also just got in 5000 rounds of CCI blazers the other day.... I think I'm done till Summer. The rest is all yours.

Truth be told.... I bought this much because my brothers, wife and friends need some, and I work at home so I can watch for deals alllllll daaayyyyyy longggg.

;-)

100% correct. that is why we have to inform everyone that this latest attack on so called "assault rifles" is more than just that. its an attack on private firearm ownership, and the gun-grabbers wont stop until they have all of our guns. to summarize the laws in NY for those that dont know what they just passed.

Assault weapons are now banned. you can no longer purchase them, if you own them they must be destroyed or sold out of state when you die, and if you do currently own them they must be registered and you will have to renew this registration with a fee every 5 years. what is an assault weapon now:

any semi auto rifle with a pistol grip (along with the other typical features found on an ar)
any semi auto shotgun with more than 5 round fixed tube
any semi auto handgun with forward hand grip

No magazines with more than 7 round capacity fixed or detachable. if you have a fixed magazine with higher than 7 rounds that firearm is now illegal by default.

All ammo sales must go through an FFL to run a background check (that you have to pay a fee for now) and all your personal info along with caliber and quantity get reported and registered with the State Police, and if your purchase is more than 1000 rounds you may be subject to investigation.

so back to the main topic of where is the ammo... yeah, its all bought up and manufacturers cant catch up.

You are still aloud to keep your 10 round magazines. They are not allowed to be loaded with more than 7 rounds. Anything higher than 10 round capacity is illegal, must be turned into authorities, destroyed, or sold out of state. So a firearm with a fixed or detachable mag of higher than 7 is not illegal. You just can't load more than 7 rounds. How will they enforce it?...I have no idea.

"A: Ten. Starting on April 15, 2013, you are limited to putting in seven rounds, unless you are at an incorporated firing range or competition recognized by the National Rifle Association or International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association, in which case the limit is ten."

kbr, i was summarizing and not going into the finer details. but in regards to the fixed magazine, some rifles and shotguns have fixed mags that have more than a 10 round capacity and those are going to be illegal based on how the law is written. if you have a fixed mag with less than 10 rounds its ok, but you cant load more than 7 as you mentioned.

the problem lies with firearms with fixed magazines after the law takes effect. many lever, pump, etc... firearms will not be able to be purchased since they hold more than 7 rounds.

I bought ammo over about a 5 year period and rat holed it. By the timeI got out of the habit of buying it, I had more than I could use in this life.
At the prices I see it selling for online, I think I may break habit and unload some.

Yea, either way it still all bullshit. I just wanted to make sure you understood that ridiculous stipulation with the 10 magazine and only 7 being legal.

Sorry for that being my first post^^^ but I figured it was important enough to warrant the skipping over of an introduction. I'm Mike by the way. Lurking for a long time until now. I found this through Lonewolfusmc and his 8541 tactical vids. Great community you have here!

The shelves at my local scheels have been completely empty for almost 2 months now.... Rarely back in stock, when it does its gone! Fast !!
I swear there are people who sleep inside the gun safes and pop out when magazines and ammo hits the shelves !!

Gunsmith out in the boonies by me has quite a bit of .22LR. When I pick up the rifle I had dropped off am going to pick up a couple of bricks.

How about some weird news? I just got a sale flyer from Sportsman's Guide that listed Wolf MT .22 ammo, and it said it was MADE IN THE USA!. Could this be true? Also could this be as good as the made in Germany Wolf?? Anybody know about this?? Weird....

The flyer must have been printed wrong; I checked at SG, they are out and it says "Made in Germany".
Keep on looking, they will be back, once the insanity of a few will fade away (and I am not talking about my fellow shooters).
Damn politicians!
Good shooting.
