Nuclear-armed Russian jets circle Guam

Why were B2s chasing those Bears around Guam in the graphic? Silly Fox...

But yeah, first off, how do they know they were nuclear armed? They don't. They flew nuclear attack profiles, which does not mean they had nukes on board.

This is NOT new. This shit has been going on for longer than Obama has been POTUS. We just let them do it and generally ignore them. Sometimes we launch fighters to intercept and "escort" them...that's about it.

Hey, what are you doing actually using common sense and critical thinking?? :p

It used to be a lot more fun during the cold war. Stories were told of pilots on opposing sides flying along close enough to engage in a bit of showing off who had the latest girly magazine.
This is just simply showing off to make themselves feel good and also provide some impromptu training for our pilots.
The bombers they are flying to show off, would be downed in moments if it was actually a hot war.
Much like when the Iranians said they were going to send boats to patrol off our coast, the answer was pretty much, sure go right ahead (as long as you stay in international waters) and hope you don't run out of fuel while you are at it. (or have some other unfortunate incident with a "rogue wave" or such).
Similar to when the Russians a couple years ago sent their feet flagship to visit Chavez, sure nice big nuclear powered, nuclear armed battle cruiser.... right up till it parks on the bottom of the ocean if there is any real trouble.

Now if somebody could just "help" the Russian Airforce get a bit bigger budget unexpectedly for showoff flights... maybe somebody could get more orders for F22s ? (Especially since the news media seems to not know the difference between Armed with Nuclear warheads, and, capable of carrying nuclear weapons if needed, and I doubt many congress critters know the difference either).

Maybe they were gonna pick up ther contingent of forces training at ft Carson and then they heard they were just gonna stay instead...

Well the border patrol up here in WA. routinely pulls over chemo patients traveling on interstate 5 because the chemo drugs set off their detectors, Maybe those interceptors are equipped with some sort of detector? i believe a nuke would give off a much greater isotope signature then a chemo patient??

Try Hauling a Radiographic Source projector for industrial NDT work all over NY state for a living. Its not happened to me but we have had several crews hassled in recent years by unwitting NY State a local cops with Radiation detection equipment in their cruisers that have no idea what is going on when it comes to this kinda thing. I hate it when they send me to NY...........

no big deal, they did this twice last year, once in AK, as evidenced by that Elmendorf-based F-22 escorting the Tu-95. they flew some backfires off the cali coast too.

I was on an RAF base in West Germany in the early 60's when the Berlin Wall was built. Fighters used to launch from there to escort the waves of nuke armed B 52's that were flying up to the East West border, many fighters did not return from those missions.
