Rifle Scopes Which scope

Hello. I have just purchased a Savage 110ba in 338 and need to buy optics for it. I intend to shoot out to 2000 yards. I have 2k to spend. I am leaning towards the NXS 5.5-22x50 and the Vortex Viper PST 6-24 in FFP. Should I consider anything else? Which would be a better scope for me? I am new to and still very much learning ELR and would greatly appreciate any advice.

At that distance I think resolution and magnification are both important. Instead of your NXS, I would suggest the newer NF ATACR that uses ED/HD glass and will have better resolution. The ATACR is a little outside your budget and there would be few used ones, unfortunately. I suggest you save a little more and get the right scope.

+1 agree...if you would have just said out to about 1300-1500 yards, then the NXS would've been great. If you said out to 1000 yards, then either one. 2000 yards is a long way!

Look at the Vortex Razor. 125 MOA of elevation, good power range, good glass, good knobs and reticles. Right in your price range. Would be an excellent choice.

I agree with Rob. The Razor is perfect for this application. Put a 40 moa base on there and go shoot. You'll be able to dial to 2k.

You looking to buy new or used? There are a lot of options out there that are used in your price range. Id suggest looking here daily. The razor HD has been up here a few times the last month and sells for a bargain.

+1Razor tons of adjustment. It's what I plan on for my 7mm remington mag to shoot ELR. Might settle on a 6-24 PST or Bushnell 3.5-21x50 if I come across a good priced used one until I get the funds saved up for the Razor.
