Got my rings for the 50 and thought what hell lets try the Vortex on top.
Well, didnt work too well. Can barely get 100 yd zero with this setup.

Topped out as in you can't get enough elevation for 100yds, or topped out as in you can't run the elevation down enough for a hundred yard zero? I just zeroed my semi-auto 308 with a 4-16 PST and have 11 MILS of elevation left. I'm switching to a 20MOA LaRue or ADM mount for more travel. Either something is up with the scope or your mounting.

I was trying to figure out the same thing. No offense to the OP, but it sounds like operator error to me. Wilsey, you do realize that the bullet can cross the point of aim at two different distances, one closer and one a fair bit further. You also realize that you don't necessarily have to get a 100 yard zero to get a 200 yard zero, right? Honestly, I don't even get why you want a 200 yard zero. I think it's something that lots of us long range guys don't understand. The fact that someone wants to get something like a .50 BMG, and then only shoot it or even begin to shoot it at 200 yards. Seems like a waste of time to me.

I wanted to see how much elevation I had left at 100 yard zero.
Yes, I'm not very fortunate too have a long shooting range. So until I can get out west to stretch this out , 100 yd zero is what would of liked. Obviously 200 or more would be preferred

Zero it at 300 or 400 meters, some zero theres at 500m. Try lowering your scope closer to the barrel by changing out the rings. If you have a 30 or 40 moa base change that out aswell to 0 or 10 MOA base. Also consider getting a scope with 44mm bell or smaller to lower the scope height a bit more.

You might find that you can purchase or trade in a lower set of rings. It look as if you could go lower and the scope further up.You want a little eye relief in there for that gun. I know those rings are not cheap so you might be able to call and send them back for a exchange.

And I have zeroed my M99a1 the same as you at 100 because there only a hand full of long ranges here and I still like to shoot it no matter if at 100yd. Granted I can still get to over 1000 if needed. But you may just change around your set up a bit to suit your needs. No fun to have a gun that won't shoot where you want it to go.

The 6-24 PST has 65MOA of elevation travel. With my 50, with a 200 yard zero, I need roughly 62MOA to reach a mile without reticle holdovers. There is just no way you are running out of elevation at a 100yrds with some sort of mounting error, scope defect, or both.
