I was originally told by Gemtech that the Quicksand was rated for 300WM? I called with some additional questions and the guy said, "if your going to run it dedicated to 300WM, you should get the Sandstorm".

I know Gentech had issues with some of their cans, and this should be the new improved (wont blow up) cans. Anyone have experience or could comment one way or the other.

FYI, the Gemtech rep was awesome, he offered to get me the Sandstorm, but I already sent paperwork in for the stamp. So I said, what the hell, I can run it on my FN SPR in 308. And I have a TBAC awaiting a stamp. so I let it slide.

Quicksand in 300WM? Sandstorm in 300WM? Comments on what I was told.

I asked the question multiple times before I got that response. Multiple times I was told, "its rated for 300WM". But when I read the literature, I believe it said 30 cal and 7.62 but never 300wm. Thats what concerned me and provoked me to ask so many times.

Whatever, I will run it on the FN and it will perform like a champ. That gun is sub-moa with CL barrel and the CAN will earn its worth in time. I have a premium Kreiger build that will wear the TBAC. I was going to run the Quicksand on the 5R 300, but in time I will probably get another TBAC if it works well for me on my first gun.

According to their website you are good to go on a 300 win mag. They probably mean if you have dedicated rifle; just screw on the sandstorm and be done w/ it; as some QA cans have issues. But as far as capacity you should be good to go.

Depends on powder charge and pressure. I would be weary of using a 308 rated Ti can on 300WM. You might have some less then stellar results. They did a recall at one point for failed welds on them.

This one is post fail. I had a 9mm fail. To their credit, they let me apply credit to whatever can I wanted. The screwed up, owned it and made good. Now I'm waiting to get Quicksand opposed to some pistol can I didn't want. Happy happy happy

I have a Sandstorm for my 308 bolt and i love it, but I never tried it on a 300WM even though they claim it can handle it.
