Whats the material that you made the cheek rest out of? I like the little gun rack cleaning station it looks really durable. I feel ya I've always thought the plastic ones were to cheap feeling.

I like the cleaning rack. I was just thinking I needed to make one myself. Can't see spending 100 bucks on a hunk of plastic.

I've considered a kydex cheek rest that looks similar to yours....I've been apprehensive about drilling through my stock though...any advice? Any extra info on your DIY cheek rest about hardware, materials etc. Would be awesome

On your cleaning stand: Did you use anything in the bottom of the U shaped channel for padding?

I made something similar out of some crappy material I had laying around and tried to line the top with a strip of rubber. Didn't turn out well, but I want to build one out of solid wood and find a way to soften the gun/wood contact.

The little net type laundry bags will produce a similar pattern for painting. I've used it before and it worked well. Just FYI. I believe I got mine at Walmart and I just cut it as needed.
