He also wants to add a $25.00 per gun tax when you buy a gun. He wants this money to go to mental health services.

I think we should put a 1 million dollar tax on every thought a politician has. 100 million if it makes it out of the mouth.

Ask the assemblyman if he'd like a .02 tax on every syllable and vowel he uses in each word he writes, speaks or thinks of daily.

"The power to tax is the power to destroy", so said Daniel Webster

Speak to him at his office, and ask him if he would also place a tax on homeowners to finance mental health issues...that will raise his nicely I would think and therefore cause him to rethink his position. Also, ask him to place a fee on anyone who does not own a gun to protect themselves since they rely on others to do so. Give him several offers that will make a ton more money.

I'm really surprised ammo and guns haven't been taxed as extensivley as cigarettes, liquor, and gasoline over the past few decades. Seems politically like a logical choice. I personally oppose taxes on any of the items mentioned above except for basic sales tax you pay on everyday goods. I think in Texas we pay a little extra for hunting and fishing supplies to help fund the State Parks and Wildlife Department. I've never opposed paying fees for my hunting and fishing license knowing it goes directly to support the conservation and preservation of those activities.

"Cigarettes, liquor, and gasoline" none of these have a Constitutional Guarantee. There are a lot of churches, why not tax them? "The power to tax is the power to destroy".

Except here in Kalifornia they charge bucks for the basic license and then more for all the extra "stamps" you must have. Then they use the money to restrict where you can hunt and fish...
