The next Robert Gradous build (6.5x47 Lapua)

Re: The next Robert Gradous build (6.5x47 Lapua)

Great pics! Robert keeps talking about how great that gun shoots. You really nailed the build with that rifle. We should have the truck gun built by the end of today, with tomorrow being the load development. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Justin,

Thank you very much! I look forward to seeing the pics of your rifle, I am sure it will be a hammer! Mr. Gradous really knows how to build them! The only problem I see with this rifle is my wife likes shooting it more than her .308 win and I caught her surfing the net looking for a 6.5 mm MTU barrel so Mr. Gradous can rebarrel. There maybe a switch barrel in her future! Have a safe trip.

Best regards,

Bob

Fun range day for sure! </div></div>

Clay,

Sure was alot of fun! It was pretty tough since the wind kept shifting and blowing in gusts. I would correct for the wind and as I would take the shot, the wind would stop or change directions. Other than that, the conditions were great and had an awesome time! I was able to see the vapor trail and impact on just about every shot which was pretty cool.

Damn you and your awesome shooting venues! I'm so jealous... Great shooting on that small plate.

Bobby Lee Swagger, fargin fabulous rifle, I love the flat earth color on the steel! Just wondering when you're going to show us the 5 shot groups? Ill show you mine if you show me yours, of course you have to wait til all this freaking snow melts!!! Im putting my money on that Lisa can shoot better than you, btw. LOL

JG, thanks for the compliment on the rifle, it really is a shooter! I have to say I really like the pics of the (6mm Creedmor?) LongRiflesinc stick that you have posted as well, pretty dang sharp! Haven't seen any shot groups though.. Hummmm? or did I just miss them?

Although I have a few 5 shot groups around here somewhere.. Im more of a 3 shot group kinda guy when it comes to shooting paper. (I find my self rushing the last two shots when I shoot 5 shot groups). Weird thing is, when I shoot steel at a distance, I don't have that issue. It must be the reassuring sound of the "ping" on the plate!

You are right about Lisa out shooting me.. Here is a 5 shot group shot by her on our last outing with the 6.5x47.
