Why when you receive a notice that an item is available from Midway in less than an hour "sorry already sold out"???
are they filling back orders and just teasing us with the notification??

I believe that despite the sporadic bitching about Midway, they are in general, a pretty good retailer and have an excellent internet presence. I actually believe that they have so many customers that when the launch the notifications, they have a ton of orders flood in almost immediately. I used to be super diligent and even responded via my cell phone a few times, and when I did in fact stay on top of it, and place orders IMMEDIATELY, I was succesful on several items getting ordered.

I've had especially good luck with Midway. My Forster Co-Ax and trimmer were delivered much sooner than I expected. I also appreciate that they don't charge your credit card until the item has shipped when purchasing back-ordered products.

They have done the same to me on items out of stock, I have logged onto the site within seconds of being notified of an item now in stock and they are sold out. Three times now on an AR barrel. They are a great company, they do great by us and I really don't have a complaint with them. But I wish they would at least take a back order and sell them in some sort of order. But it can't be fun now days in the industry, lots of people wanting stuff!

Their shipping is top notch.

No arguments there, but jeez they charge enough. I had 2 neck bushings, a 10 pack of redding decapping pins, and new chamfer tool in my cart or roughly $64, and I get to shipping at checkout and it was $18 (the cheapest option). That is typically when I try somebody else, or just wait.

I've found that their notification system is too slow. There must be some kind of delay between when an item is shown to be "in stock" and when the notification emails are sent out. For example, on Monday of this week I checked for small pistol primers... In stock! Yeah! So, I purchased small pistol primers. Then, the next day, I get an email stating that an item I'm interested is in stock. Yep, small pistol primers that I already purchased the day before and they are long gone by the time the notification email is sent.

All that said I still like Midway and purchase most things from them.

I get the feeling this is very likely. I've got all the items I want bookmarked and check them several times a day (I work in front of a computer and mostly from home so easy for me to do). I've got a very small list of things I want. I've set funds aside so if something is in that I need/want, then I pull the trigger. In today's shopping environment, hesitation isn't an option.

Last week was the first I ever ordered from them. Normally Sinclair has been my goto.

Usually when I need to order something it's only a few items, and Sinclair charges a flat $12 or so shipping. Well, if I need a $10 part that is not economical.

Last week when Midway had Mecgar Sig mags in stick I ordered two of them. Shipping came to only $4.

Needless to say ill try Midway again.

Yeah, their shipping is usually expensive. My last order the shipping was something like $40

That's odd. Ordered a torque wrench and a couple other smaller pieces for a total of 50 bucks. Only cost me 8.72 in shipping. That was this morning.

My experience has always been great.
Codes dude, codes.
Before I go to order I'll do a quick search for discount codes and I have found them.
But with all the hysteria and hoarding, someone will post on SH that something's available and <15 minutes later it's gone.

Something else I'm not sure of, if you look at an item that is out of stock , then sign in and see if that product status changes. I had an email from them for a product that came back into stock. I checked the site " not signed in" and the product was already gone. I signed in and looked at the same product it showed "low stock"

Let me offer some inside perspective. I work for a shooting sports wholesaler. When an item comes in, let's say varget. We might get lucky and receive 20 cases (200 1lb containers). 300 people are searching the website and see that this item is in and order it all at the same time. Guess what, 100 of them wind up with notices that it is out of stock. Our website updates every 5 seconds. Our sister company, a retailer updates their sight every second with live inventory and they still wind up with the same situation. Just the nature of the beast with such high demand and low supply.

Right now you have to be patient. No one had a system setup to handle the demand that is going on right now.

+1 for midway and superquick fast shipping, I did notice that recently items have been selling out fast once notified. Last week 30 round mags became available several times and once sold back out in 9 minutes. I did manage to score a pair later on.

I agree Midway has incredible shipping, but certainly at a cost. They get ragged on a bunch for it, but sometimes it is worth it for a hassle-free and expeditious transaction. I did hit my tipping point with them (which forced me to change my order) when I ordered 2 bore brushes, 2 jags, and a bottle of Iosso creme. The total came to like $23. The shipping came to $19.23 (only 1 option given). I don't know why, but it had to do with that Iosso...it must be considered evil. I removed it from my cart and bought just the brushes and jags...and shipping was 'only' like $9.50.

The reason for the expensive shipping is due to UPS...not Midway.

It's called supply and demand. I seriously doubt that a company like Midway is "teasing" anyone.

Least you guys are getting emails...I registered my email for several products and I have yet to receive notice despite the items actually being in stock.
I now just make it a habit to check their site daily.

I just need a couple of boxes of 6.5CM to shoot for shit's sake! I've never seen this industry running so strong in my life...it's seriously been a run on EVERY product made...not just "assault weapons" stuff.
