Received my stock today from Todd@Rock solid. Awesome chunk of metal! So far all parts dropped in no problem. AI 10rnd fits like a glove. There is a nice(spring loaded) mag release tab that sticks out far enough for convenient changes.

Since it comes pre-drilled for a single stud bipod mount, I asked Todd if he could tap 2 holes for a picatinny 1913 adapter. Sure enough, perfect fit:)

I always thought from the pictures the side grips were "griptape". But after looking it over, it's more of a plastic "mini velcro" feel. Even with no gloves..this stuff is pretty grippy!

It came with 3 buttstock plastic spacers, And 1 end piece, that is a ~1/2" softer compound material. (I have not shot this yet, but it looks more comforting than raw aluminum against my shoulder!) My position felt a little reached, so I removed 2 spacers. The third one is bonded to the recoil pad.

Btw, you can tell alot of thought has gone into this stock. i.e front attachment holes(tip; offer holes drilled/not drilled?)cheek rest adjustability(vertical/horizontal), and QD sling cups throughout.

Can't wait to go put some rounds downrange.(btw; that is not the glass that she will be paired with) I am not affiliated with rock solid in any way, but I can report that the overall customer support with Todd is bar none. Responded in TEXT!, ypu don't see that now-a-days. Good 2 go

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

This is the first time I have seen detailed pics of this stock and it looks amazing. If I may ask why choose this over an AI or others. I need to do more research to see what a better fit for my remmy that I just ordered last night. I still have a lot of action work to be done but that is a nice end game to see my project completed in.
Nice rig brother.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

s4area51 ,

This stock looks much better with the barreled action in place. As you mentioned it looks like a very well thought out piece. Great pics BTW. Thanks for posting.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

Thanks for those excellent pics. My rifle should be riding in one just like that within the month. Very nice.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

That BCM grip looks right at home there, glad to see that, too.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

Todd came over to the house and we filmed him bedding my recoil lug. It took no time and was super easy. I know he was working on getting the video up and going. These stocks are very well built for a comp rifle and do to solid 1 piece of the main chassis there is less things that can go wrong in a comp.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

I was going to start a thread showing off my new stock, but you beat me to it! I also had Todd use a pic rail rather than a stud for the bipod. Hope to get to shoot it tomorrow.

.

The front area where it is rough is from tape as I floated the recoil lug forward.

Re: Rock Solid Rifle Stock-R700

I have one on the way too!!

They work with AW mags right?

I new i had for got something, I am running a atlas bi-pod. What was the cost of the rail for the bi-pod? Did he do the holes for the rail after it was painted?

Send your pic rail in to him. There are so many versions that he cant just drill and tap without knowing exactly what rail you have. Best way is to do it yourself or send it in for him to mount. Magpul MOE rail sections are what I'll probably use, but the Accushot or Seekins rail, etc. would work, too. Pick what you want and holler at him.

I have know and shot with Todd for many years. I finally had a chance to try out one of his stocks at the Bushnell Brawl demo day. He let quite a few people shoot his rifle. He also donated a gift certificate for one of his stocks for the prize table. Todd is GTG.

These are nice stocks?

Does anybody know what actions they are made for? Any other option besided Rem 700?
